What do you think if a girl calls you buddy?

If a girl you like calls you buddy in a playful manner do you take that to mean that you are just friends to her? I personally hate it if a guy who I like calls me mate but by any other guy I'm cool with it.

I called a guy I liked buddy yesterday and his attitude towards me completely changed after. I was just playing around so I wanna know does that word have the "just freinds" affect?

I would much rather be called "jerk" than "buddy". I even asked this girl I like if we were buddies and she said "no" so at least I'm in the clear with the friend zone, of course it doesn't mean she likes me but at least she doesn't see me as a "buddy", although the fact that she can say "we are not buddies" while looking me in the eye could mean she hates me, we get along really well but we are not buddies, so I'm not sure where I stand.

I would definitely take a friend zone indicator unless it was in context like if you said listen here buddy in a joking way. if you were just like hey buddy I would def think that

Best thing I can say is don't read too much into it. Take it slowly. Be friends for awhile before doing more. If it works out great. If not at least keep her as a friend. You don't want it to end badly and be awkward.

Definitely I would take it as a friendzone thing. I recently had that happen and was an indicator to back off to talking to the girl and meet her in person instead of social media.

Like you said in one of your comments up there, get your flirt on. But don't ever call him "buddy" again. Yes, it does have a "just friends" type of feel to it.
