Learn your history. The 16th Amendment imposes an income tax, and the federal government started payroll withholding to have enough money to fight World War II, and after the war they decided they liked being able to just take all this money, so it never went away. You can lower your withholding to $0 by claiming higher exemptions on your W-2, but then you will still owe the tax at the end of the year, plus interest and penalties, so you'll have to write a big check. Most people will have spent the money by then.

You can also elect to have the maximum allowable state and federal taxes withheld from your paycheck and you can also write in an extra dollar amount on your W2 to have held out as well. At the end of the year you are less likely to owe or at least owe a smaller amount. Most people with children can elect to have less state and federal taxes held out per paycheck to help with daily expenses and then get the EITC at the end of the year.

U agreed by working there, u have the option of moving to a country that doesn’t deduct tax. I guess the important thing is to weigh up what u get for ur tax and decide if that gives u value for money.
U would expect an education paid for but the state and access to the emergency services, police, fire and ambulance, beyond that, u would expect roads and public services such as libraries. U also expect national security, which is a military to protect u. U also need someone to manage all that shit. 99% of countries offer that and that’s what ur tax is for, if u don’t want those things then either move to an oil state that pay for all that for u, these r basically all in the Middle East, or become a millionaire and move to Monaco. There r also some countries who r at war who don’t focus on those things, they may be an alternative.

I don't want my gross pay; I'm gonna pay taxes anyway. If my work deducts the taxes for me, it's one less thing to think about.
