Yes, of course he can- why do you think he's doing it? The man has been convicted of nothing, which means dropping him from the ballot on the basis of "participating in an insurrection" is illegal. The outright brutal persecution he's gone through from his political enemies is having an effect far beyond the mere cynical manipulation I always thought it was: it's making him a hero. Not just in public perception, but in reality.

If accusation equals guilt, then the rule of law is dead, the ghost of Emmett Till can't rest easy, and the country has taken a mortal blow, leaving only the question of when it will fall. Any rational person would say "this isn't worth the trouble" and give up. Even if Trump was motivated purely by narcissism initially, a basic sense of patriotism, or even belief in human civilization, would be the only thing that could motivate him to stand his ground now.

What you SHOULD be asking is not "why won't he go away?", but "how did things get so bad that the only thing holding the country together is the moral integrity of Donald Trump?". If the US falls, you are NOT going to like what comes next.

I think you have grossly misunderstood the situation. The only hint to be taken from those exact points you've listed is that he's being targeted by the establishment class. Stuff like this vindicates him, and spikes his polling numbers.

If these people really wanted him to go away, the best thing they could've done is dismissed and ignored him for the last three years instead of constantly talking/lying about him, but they just can't help it.

The TLDR version of what's happening in Colorado is that they're claiming Trump is guilty of a crime he has not been found guilty of, or even charged with, while citing a law that definitively (and previously clarified by the SCOTUS) does not apply to the office of POTUS, with the full knowledge that it will be overturned on all of those grounds. This is why you do not elect activists, or those who will appoint them into unelected positions in total ignorance of the law, in reliance on the court of public opinion.

Trump k ows that the majority want him to win. He has gotten more donations than ever, most bu small donors. His rallies draw big crowds and he is soaring in the polls. Democrats are trying everything to keep him from running because they know he will win. Instead of letting voters decide who runs the democrats want to tell us who can and cannot run. Americans are seeing right through this. All you have to do is ask these two questions.1) If the Democrats have done such a good job and if Biden is such a great leader, why not just let Trump run again and beat him at the polls. 2) Are you better off now than you were 3 years ago?

@DryGermanGuy It's worth noting that "convicted" and "found liable for" are legally different statements. Convictions are for criminal charges, liability is civil and has a much lower evidentiary bar.
