Why would Donald Trump incriminate himself right now?

He's fighting like 50 million legal cases, not to mention the ballot removal appeals. Why doesn't he wait till he is in power?

He is already in power. But his power is over republicans and republicans control half of government (SCOTUS and the house), more if you measure into the grey area territory of the senate fillibuster. So that half+ is hell bent on protecting Trump from accountability at all costs.

Or at least bent on appearing to protect him - really, the leaders want Trump gone but know if they get obvious about that the numbers they need from his base might abandon the GOP, and the GOP would basically become an obsolete party within two election cycles. Meanwhile, his base is I think at least intelligent enough to understand that if they reject the GOP then Democrats will win everything. There isn't any evidence that this would be a bad thing but right wing media has spent the last 40 years developing propaganda that makes their viewers think it would be bad. Still, the belief that it would be bad is a belief all the same and beliefs don't hit as hard as reality, so republican leaders are not convinced Trump supporters are brainwashed (the republican version of intelligence) enough to understand if they reject the GOP then democrats win everything. And, often, the appearance of protecting Trump isn't wildly different from actually protecting him, since most of his actual accountability has thus far occured only in the court of public opinion.

So, Trump knows no matter what he says or does the republican owned media will immediately work to normalize it to keep his supporters on the line for voting for those tax handouts to rich republicans. Plus, if Trump supporters ever did get made aware that they are being conned, I'd fear some sort of mass suicide as the last 40 years of building up their self worth comes crashing down. As much as right wingers irritate me, i don't want them to die - just to grow up a little and quit their rage addiction. Time to be adults, you know..

Well, that's the thing. Democrats don't like Joe Biden. No one likes him. It's the Maga Republicans who pretend that Donald Trump is a benevolent leader. And see you how most "benevolent leaders are like Kim Jung Un, Viktor Orbán, and Vladimir Putin. I don't like Biden, but I don't trust someone who has a cult-like following and constantly praises one individual like they are going to magically fix the country.

He lost the election and tried to overthrow the government. He's constantly trying to make moves even though he's not a world leader anymore. He wants to make it so he can fire government officials and replace them with people who agree with everything he says. Like I can't trust someone who when I try bring up valid criticism about I am accused of being a Joe Biden support or a radical leftist when I am not. A lot of Trump's support supports echo chambers like crazy.
