Why do politicians love spending money the local government does not have?

Trending news and example from the headlines Ca just allowed for illegal immigrants to get healthcare and the state is broke with no extra money to spend.

The state does not have the money to provide health care for its official citizens let alone any one who sneak over there!

Having family in LA the most regulars taking up the beds are the homeless for free drugs and space to sleep till they over stay Thier welcome in 3 months.

Mean while people are waiting around 5 hours at best in the ER for a bed to rest on with real injury's or diseases and infections.

Politicians have to promise something for office

Their terms will be over by the time the bad effects are felt

It's just money who cares

Business is not thier strong suit they are just wealthy usually

As long as it is a good thing does it matter?

They can promise what ever and never have to fulfill it

It's just to speak to the masses that tis all that matters getting elected

It does seem that sometimes immigrants get better treatment than US citizens. There are even programs that can help get them affordable housing. Since I got diagnosed with diabetes last year, I've made quite a few trips to the hospital. My asthma also puts me in their every once in a while, and if I had to guess, and this is just a guess, hospitals say they aren't allowed to refuse treatment to anyway... maybe they're doing the same thing with health insurance to illegal immigrants.

I'm in Ohio, and I know here it's not hard for anyone to get health insurance. So many people abuse the system, and it sounds like that's what they're doing in CA. These politicians do these things to make themselves look good. Especially around this time a year. They know there's an election coming up, and it being an election year, the politicians of CA probably want to set a 'good example' of helping others.

Yeah, the government is a mess, lol. Especially CA. Arnold Schwarzenegger was once a governor there. That right there says that state uses bad judgement when voting for people. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a good actor, and probably a decent human being, but putting a man in officer that is more experienced in acting is not a good idea, lol.

I think this country has been making a lot of bad choices.

Hospitals are allowed to refuse treatment for various reasons... Usually someone abusing the hospital or we are not equipped to beat take care of them or we will transfer...

But your right citizens are often given lower class treatment and pushed in and out while someone else can sit in a bed for weeks waiting to be placed in a shelter or special place to take care of them...

The ER in theory should be nearly one hour at most... But those who are worse or lie they are dying get in instantly which happens way to often.

um... spending money is their power over people. thus they find ways to control others... by spending.

the current bunch believes in caring for others, so they will spend on that to look good.

in the end, they will be reimbursed by the federal govt if they go too far or go bankrupt and start over, so they don't care. it's a game... that's all. are the pensions funded? Where the $ for the nuclear power plant come from?

ps. I just hope they keep growing avocados and carrots... we do need CA!

If they canfind a way to deploy these illegals to work, maybe the economic value starts to wash out. not sure. As well, I'd think if a migrant mother shows up with a big knife wound... they are going to treat them rather than send them home. Once in the USA, there is some basic level of service people should get... at a low cost.

The problem with our system isn't the people, it's that the govt has used "heathcare"... e. g. disease care... as a way to manage the economy and it's ludicrous expensive. So putting people that have no income into the most expensive system... gets expensive and don't have the $ to pay for it.

how to fix it... ugh... I don't know... mess brewing for decades. I know churches that would provide basic services to americans like dental and medical. sad, but true. americans can't get service. I've seen people that can't see and could live life if had cataract surgery. but don't have the $.

our society is going the wrong way as the system is so corrupt and the haves haves nots widens. that's the problem... and what the govt is doing being arbiter to re-distribute.

I think politicians have an expectation that if they're cause is deemed noble enough by a certain amount of their populous, nobody will care about the money that is spent. A lot of people don't identify government debt as their own, unfortunately.
