Of course I'm not saying that's the case with all Trump supporters. But I have noticed that some really have a kind of ideolization of Trump. I mean, no matter what Trump says to them, it's automatically great, because Trump says it.
And then Trump is absolutely great because he's fighting against the "elite" against the "system" bla-bla-bla...
There are certainly good arguments to say that Trump hasn't been a bad president, but I personally find this idealization of a man rather strange.

There’s a lot involved. I think people in general are fed up with the way politics operates, and that part isn’t wrong.
One of the biggest things I think is that he activated a formerly inactive block of voters. Like a lot of these people weren’t out here throwing support behind Mitt Romney, John McCain, etc, in the years before. And these people…. I’ll be polite…. are not the most savvy of political analysts. Trump is a showman, I think a poor one, personally, I think his insults are way more corny and cringe than they are funny, but he for some reason sells to some people. I think a lot of it is the amusement at his irreverence. We don’t usually see it done so brashly in politics, so it’s a circus they buy tickets for.
And I’m trying to not lean too hard into the “they’re all racists and homophobes and xenophobes!”, that’s kind of trite, but I can’t help but notice a whole lot of what I would consider to be mean-spirited attitudes towards others, so when Trump acts mean-spirited, he has a friendly audience. That’s not to say being mean-spirited is necessarily (or at least consciously) their driving force, I think they have more positive rah-rah stuff they hope to see accomplished, but they definitely aren’t deterred when Trump says ignorant things, or if their positive progress results in negative regression for demographics they don’t care about. The whole thing is based around “Me first”, which is one of the main reasons it sucks, there’s nothing noble in that mentality.
The other main problem: these people haven’t figured out yet that this dude rips off a cool 10 lies per minute. They think what he says is the absolute truth that others are just scared to say out loud, and thank god he came along and had the balls to do it. And if you believe that…. holy FUCK, bro, just lmfao🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡 I’d respect it more if people were like “yeah, he’s a fucking liar, but he’s working for things I want”, but they instead sit there and tell you he’s the greatest thing since Jesus, lmfao. It’s truly, truly unbelievable watch, just a mass brainwashing that happened in real-time in front of our eyes. I have never seen anything like this, and I hope we don’t see it again.
The biggest thing to me is how completely and utterly uninformed these people tend to be. Look, I know you can go around anywhere, to any politician’s rally, interview a few people and find an idiot to portray as “the norm”…. but I’ve just watched so many hours of footage of this, and once it was LIVE, the kid was walking through the crowd asking random people stuff, and literally no one had any fucking idea what they were talking about. They had a whole bunch of buzzwords and catchphrases, but if you ask them to give you any measure of substance, or if you ask even one follow-up question, they would just completely fall apart. The most misinformed people I’ve ever seen, with the most irrational confidence that what they believe is unquestionably correct, and it’s definitely true because Donald Trump said it. I mean…..🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️

I think people are right to be angry with the state of politics in America, that’s not wrong. What’s wrong is they want to fix it, but they seem like they only want it fixed to help certain people who align with what THEY think an American should be, and I simply think their idea of what an American should be is off-base. I like to think everyone has redeeming qualities. I bet if some of these guys and I talked football or went bass fishing, we’d maybe get along famously. It’s sad that we feel like we have to share political views to positively interact. I’m just old enough to remember a time when the automatic answer to “who are you voting for?” was “none of your business”, and I think we might’ve been better off that way.
But these are people with a lot of grievances, some real, some exaggerated, some imagined. I would think a wealthy New York businessman would be the exact guy they’d hate, but they’ve seen him on TV, and he says the uncouth things they want to say but know they shouldn’t, but want to, and they apparently just want a reality show for our political dealings. And the scary part is Trump will go away/die eventually, but these people will remain, and some even cheaper knock-off initiation will fill the void. “Angry at societal progress and need to dragged kicking and screaming into the future” guy and gal will always exist, so there’s always a market for MAGA-style movements.

I deal with a lot of small businesses. Almost all enthusiastically support president Trump. These people are all intelligent, motivated people that were sick of high taxes, crippling regulations and a government that did more harm than good. Just because somebody never went to an Ivy League school does not mean they are ignorant. They know how to make payroll and balance a checkbook. The population has exploded to a point where we need everyone operating in fairly uniform order. Like it might be “1984” time😂 I don’t have much respect for the intelligence or the intents of the average human being, and they need to be highly controlled and regulated in order to achieve the behavior from people that we need to cleanly operate, otherwise complete chaos is the only viable alternative. Owning your own business is not an entitlement that we need to unquestionably foster an environment for.

@exitseven The driver’s license thing…. that’s not how voting works. I mean, we can throw around wild claims that it will be abused for voting purposes, but that’s not valid. You can’t make extraordinary claims without extraordinary evidence. The process to becoming a naturalized US citizen takes well over a decade, and only then can someone vote, with a couple rare exceptions of city elections in New York City and maybe somewhere else I can’t remember. Simply having a driver’s license isn’t going to get you a ballot, and again, I’ll wait for legitimate extraordinary and overwhelming evidence of abuse of this system before I believe it’s happening. Donald Trump or Steve Bannon or Alex Jones or anyone else in that camp saying something is true doesn’t even come close to making it so, and legitimate evidence would lead an unbiased mind to believe that all three of those guys lie habitually for their own gain or for the gain of a movement they support and/or want to foster so they can continue grifting the true followers.

@WhiteSteve. The Sec of State where I live goes on TV just before an election urging everyone to vote. Then he says that all you need to register to vote is a driver's license. Almost the whole state government is made up of democrats. They set up the registry of motor vehicles to be able ti register people to vote. They did not set up a mechanism to check to see if they are citizens. Democrats set these systems up so that they can cheat. Same with mail in ballots. There was no mechanism in place e to determine if a ballot was genuine as soon as it was put in the ballot box. It was designed from the ground up to be able to cheat. Then they created so much chaos about covid that it was impossible to keep track of everything.

@abc3643. Nobody is perfect. You don't have to like him as a person but he implemented policies that helped the vast majority of Americans. Inflation was low, so were gas prices. I never though I would ever see gas under 2 bucks again but under Trump we all did. We had a secure border and the wait in Mexico plan discouraged people from even trying to come to the US illegally. Adversaries like China and North Korea were neutralized and we pulled out of the Paris Climate scam saving millions and sending a message that it is a hoax to get money for globalist interests. Trump is not perfect but he is far from the person he is portrayed as by the media. He has done many charitable donations, he just does not advertise a lot of it. His organization was very diverse and there were opportunities for all groups. Everyone was treated the same and promotions were given according to ability. He believes in capitalism and has given up millions in order to serve as president. I imagine someday we may understand what motivates him but for now I just look at how much better things were just a short 3 years ago. As messed up as 2020 was with covid I now look at it as the good old days

It is not about him as a person. It is really about the MAGA movement. A large portion of America has felt that they were forgotten by the government. The government wanted them to just pay for all their stupid ideas and fund their failed policies. This was really apparent during the Obama administration.
Trump was able to tap into that rage and put a face on it. Then he made a cure and called it Make America Great Again. He used traditional American values and the Constitution to create a party that was vastly different that the old Republican party. The MAGA party is open to anyone who loves this country and wants it to prosper. Traditional groups that always voted democrat like Law Enforcement, Labor Unions and small business owners became Trump supporters.
Trump's first term was so successful that most Americans want to have a return to a common sense government and have an administration that puts America First.
When Trump was president it was the only time in my life that i felt that I had real representation in Washington.

And to be fair due to economies of scale its easier to justify infrastructure investment in more populated areas. The cost of the same infrastructure in rural areas would cost orders of magnitude more than building condensed versions in cities. It can still be done, though, but to do it we'd have to tax the rich. They know it and they really don't want us to do that. So they swindle.

@supercutebutt no, people are pissed off to see thousands of illegal aliens being moved into hotels and being served catered meals that are "culturally appropriate" and not being able to go to the emergency room because the line goes out the door. Then you hear how the governor has to raise taxes to pay for it. They are tired of seeing tents pitched on the sidewalk and having to deal with junkies looking for handouts while you are stuck in traffic Americans are fed up with going to the supermarket and having to put several items back on the shelf because they cannot afford them. They are sick of being told what kind of car they have to own, what kind of stove they have to buy and what kind of light bulb they Can own. They are sick of criminals being let loose and tired of junkies panhandling on street corners. We never had these issues just a short 3 years ago. This is what is going to put Presiden Trump back in the White House.
I believe you are wrong… it’s not Trump we are passionate about. It’s America that we are passionate about. And the left is destroying America. If you look what the GOP was offering us only Trump, DeSantis, and Ramaswamy actually care about America. Trump can’t be bought, neither can Ramaswamy…. Haley is already owned. She got tons of money from Black Rock. DeSantis is good in Florida but on the national stage…. Not so good. Ramaswamy I think is great, but he is just too new. Trump is the only guy that can’t be bought, knows the swamp better than anyone, even though they are using lawfare against him, fake impeachments (twice), fake Russian collusion…. Trump doesn’t stop. He is willing to actually fight for America and Americans. So it’s not that we are passionate about Trump, we want America back from the Marxists/communists. We can take it back but it’ll be bloody (I hope it never comes to this)…. Or we can get Trump in office and have him clean house and get our country back from the top down.
Under no political climate would a guy like Trump be taken seriously but he is the most libertarian of any of the presidents we have had within the past 60 years. That is why the establishment is doing everything they can to get rid of him.
They don't want the average person to have freedom, they want them be under their thrall and being forced to live the way they want them to live: living in pods and 15 minute cities while eating bugs because meat is supposedly bad for the planet.
They do this by making the economy so shitty that this lifestyle is all the average person can afford. Just look at New York, there was a viral video that came out the other day of apartments that are just one room that is wide enough for you to sleep in for $2k per month. There is no in-apartment bathroom either, you would have to shower and do your business in the hallway restroom.
Of course, the people who blindly believe that he has all the isms and the phobes because he is a straight, white cishet male will never learn why this is happening. They will keep blaming those who have the beleif that the economy is not the government's to control and that people have a right to own their own property, as they have always done, while they vote for more taxes to be taken out to be spent on things that will only be used against them.

I think a LOT of people are misreading what's going on. It's NOT that people think TRUMP is this great thing. It's more that they're done with the garbage status quo that's been running things forever now and doesn't seem to give two shits about what the electorate wants.
Again, it's NOT that people even think that TRUMP gives a shit about them. It's that they KNOW the existing structure does not and they want to give it a big FUCK YOU. And Trump is that fuck you.
Here's just one example of what i'm talking about: Poll after poll makes it pretty clear what much of the electorate cares about. They want a SANE immigration policy and NOT open borders. They want crime reduction and NOT the insane release of violent offenders. They want something done about the rampant homeless situation. They want a substantial reduction in foreign wars and entanglements.
Meanwhile, what do elected "leaders" deliver? Open borders, rampant crime, rampant homelessness, a complete disregard for taxpayers, wars that never end and ENDLESS money for foreigners, etc. etc. And this isn't just the Dems either. Nikki Haley wants the US to be involved in all KINDS of foreign conflicts and seems totally fine with open borders.
Again, it's not about Trump. It's about saying "fuck you" to the establishment that consistently ignores the interests of the electorate.
He validates the made up narrative of grievance and victimhood that has been spoonfed to them by right wing media for the last 40 years. It's like a religion where it doesn't have to be real: if you can force enough people to pretend it's real then it feels real, and that's good enough. Electing him presidential a democracy may not force people to pretend it's real but it does force people to hear it. Although, his declaration that he will be a christian nationalist dictator is a tacit promise that in a second term he will force people to pretend it is real.
I was a Trump supporter.. Only in the last year of his presidency... I agree there is a fanaticism around Trump to the point where many of his followers idolize him..
Even though he's not the most eloquent with speech, it's actually a lot of what the people love about him.. That he speaks to them like people and not down to them..
He didn't sound like a typical politician... He seemed to address what's actually bringing America down, and followed through with a lot of his promises.. Put that in with his natural charisma you have a dedicated fan base..
I think it’s because he’s withstood 8 years of personal attacks, legal attacks and stood sting without compromising. There have been quite a few people to come out of the woodwork and say “Trumpish” things over the years and they can’t replicate his success because they haven’t gone through what he has. The last year of legal attacks and trying to indict him while much of the country is suffering from poor leadership I think has almost radicalized a lot of people. The distractions of everyday life aren’t working anymore and people are losing hope for the future. Trump is the only guy who’s proven he can and will fight back against a system that regular people have grown to despise and view as exploitative.
Because he is a brave survivor. The liberals managed to steal the election but Trump has survived an onslaught of dirty liberal slandering, lies and false allegations. They want to bar him from running because he supports the majority of people and liberals know that undermining democracy is their only chance of stopping him until they manage to flood America and replace republican votes with 3rd world liberal voters. the world has a growing disgust for liberals and their political witch hunts.
First and foremost, Trump is an entertainer. More importantly though is he has become the face of the anti-progressive movement. Its not rocket science; a large portion of America doesn't want men occupying ladies restrooms. They dont want to feel like they are walking on egg shells because something might get offended and threaten to cancel another. They dont want to see kids getting irreversible sex changes. They are tired of seeing China prosper at the expense of American ingenuity. They talk about many reasons, and to be honest with you, as a Moderate, I'd prefer an active president over a passive one to represent me on a global scale.
Those of us that look at the whole picture and how it may or will affect the future. We all saw what Trump did and tried to do. But he didn’t have the support of the Democrats. Hopefully if he does have a next time. He will either have more support from a few democrats or a republican majority to accomplish his or our goals to save America. If you followed Biden’s campaign. He told you that he was going to raise energy prices, therefore causing higher food prices and opening up the southern border! And wrecking the economy! We are just tired of the business as usual democrats!
Many people felt the same way about Barack Obama for some strange reason. I have to admit to not understanding the mentality of those who engage in idol-worship, because whilst I may admire someone's accomplishments, I'd never surrender my intellectual independence and dignity by joining a cult of theirs.
The system? He is the system. He's a billionaire haha. He rigs the system to make him and Elon and Bezos and Zuckerberg more money no matter the cost.

One president was an actual peanut farmer.

I think people love him, because they can relate to him. He says the things his supporters think, but would get scolded for if they did. So they finally feel they have a voice and politician to represent THEM.
However, I do agree the whole obsession and idealization of him is quite pathetic. Trump is far from perfect. Though I think there are more Democrats who blindly idolize Biden and the Obamas.
Probably because he is the embodiment of whatever it is they believe in. The only one who can implement policy that will bring about something these people cherish about the country itself. It helps that there are those out there who are opposed to those things. It only pushes us harder in support of him.
An unfortunately increasingly common behavior. People are bombarded nonstop by propaganda. TV, radio, computer, newspapers. It’s really very much all encompassing. The system is kept alive by people believing that it works, so all of this propaganda has a motive to create followers who are increasingly fanatical. If people stopped getting so excited about Obama, Trump, Clinton, etc. then they might start to question our entire political system. You need to keep them distracted, and excited.
I wouldn't say it an idolization but more of people having enough crap! America is in desperate times right now and no one loves this country and it's people more than DJT! So, I just believe those people are also true bleeding red, white, and blue lovers of this country! No one is above God and Trump gives God the power and glory he deserves! That's why he will be the last president in history to have more than three terms in office since FDR. 😉
It's not the man- it's that he stands against the corrupt criminals screwing ordinary Americans over, so it's about the issues. But the persecution he's been subjected to by the Democrats has generated a lot of sympathy for him.

Maybe you should look at the percentage of Trump supporters that are black - it's a bigger percentage than any Republican has had for decades. That's no accident.
Trump is far from perfect - there are plenty of things about him I don't particularly care for - but the reason he is supported is because he can't be bought, and because he's legitimately trying to do the right things for this country.
Perhaps you recall that Obama was given a Nobel Peace Prize almost his first week in office - he'd done nothing to earn it beyond getting elected. Meanwhile Trump forged 6 different peace treaties - several that were considered impossible - and not only did he start no new wars, he was winding down the biggest one (Afghanistan).
But that's part of the problem, you see. The elites WANT war - continuous war - because nothing enriches them with both money and power like war does. Want to make tens of billions of tax dollars disappear into your pocket? Be a supplier of war materials or services. Massive awards are made and no one ever checks what happens to that money. That's the main reason Trump gets so much flak from both sides - the Military Industrial Complex (i. e., the billionaire elites, most of whom aren't public names) want and NEED constant, on-going war, even though that drains massive amounts of money from the middle class. And Trump dared to end that, and that just could not be allowed.
If Obama had tried to end the War On Terror, he'd have been attacked the same way by the same people, because US presidents are supposed to fall in line and obey the M. I. C.
