Ocean levels will rise with climate change. Floating cities will mitigate the damage that can be caused by this.

um... isn't that called a bunch of boats tied together?

sounds expensive and scary and i don't love water that much. but to each their own... if there's no choice...

I must confess... if house was part underwater and I had sea creatures swimming through my kitchen through a bubble... and I could feed the animals... that be entertaining!

I mean... why not have a baesment, rather than floating, it's attached to bottom and floats up and down with the water on sliders.

I think the whole city floats up and down on pylons. Not sure.

Just more pollution when everybody's trash only has to blow 10 feet to get in the ocean. Too many cultures still see that as a dumping ground. Ultimately we just need to accept we can't accommodate infinite people. Like... ALL of us.

I doubt it will work unless they are in a well-protected harbor that would protect them from rough seas, hurricanes, and tsunamis. They would have to create these artificial harbors from scratch so they don't muddle up their seaports with clutter. Also sounds very expensive to build and keep up. Perhaps they can use Venice as their model as to what works and what doesn't to keep above rising sea levels.

the more still the water is, the better it will "float" and the more still that water is, the smellier it will all get

these models look very appealing, but the reality of it... will be a bit different, lol

Also, things float according to their buoyancy. It has nothing to do with how still the water is or how rough it is.
