We live in the county's rural areas. The pool is membership-based, meaning many parents are on the board for the recreation center. A gym in the other building is not connected to the pool area. That means all pool changing rooms are strictly for the pool only. Guests can only come in by a member inviting them to the pool, and the guest pays a 5.00 fee. People cannot just walk off the street to use our pool. We do allow groups to rent out the pool. There is no smoking, no drinking, and no drugs here. There is an adult male changing room and an adult female changing room. There is a boys changing room & a girls changing room next to each other. Fathers can take girls up to 14 years old into the boys' changing room, and mothers can take boys up to 14 years old into the girls' changing room. The wall between the boys' and girls' changing rooms is fragile, with two 36-inch double doors. The walls and doors are made of white milky glass. The board surveyed parents and their children to get feedback on unisex the two children's changing rooms into one. The response was shocking. That 90 percent of the parents agree to it. More surprising was the children's feedback, which was 100 percent. The double doors were removed between the two changing rooms. This allows each changing room to flow into the other changing room if the room is crowded. For example, the brownies group swims on a Saturday afternoon, and there are 50 girls if the girl's side of the changing room can overflow into the boy's side of the changing room. The same goes with a boy group, which can flow into the girl's side of the changing room. The boy's side of the changing room or the girl's side of the changing room can not be blocked for any reason. That means if the girls have a large group and use both sides, the boys can still come in on the boy's side of the unisex changing room. The same goes for boys using both sides of the changing room; girls can come in on their side of the changing room.

I went to the Museum last week and saw male and female stalls and also gender neutral ones. I chose to delay my washroom trip when I saw the gender neutral stall cause I viewed the plurality of genders in the private sphere as a high risk domain to endeavour in any participant form.
