Rape. Both can potentially ruin your public and private life, but only one damages your actual self. That doesn't mean people who have been falsely accused shouldn't be taken seriously and don't deserve justice. It just means that false accusations are not enough to justify not taking all accusations seriously.

Like other serious crimes like kidnapping and murder, even if it is a false alarm, you want there to be a quick and competent response for the best chance that the offender will actually be caught and convicted. If it turns out to be a lie, then hopefully that will be discovered by good investigation and defense in court.

Unfortunately for the falsely accused and fortunately for rape victims, rape is just way more common, so by default it's more likely that the accuser is telling the truth. Unfortunately for rape victims and fortunately for those falsely accused, only a very small percentage of rape cases actually make it to court—and even many less than that lead to convictions.

That means most of both groups will be left alone by the law to move foreward, with the accuser/predator also left alone and still nearby.

Rape is a horrible physical trauma and both emotionally and psychologically damaging to a massive degree. I have no understanding of the kind of evil that would do this to a woman. Yet, there are tremendous resources for the victims of rape and at some point they may be able to heal and live a productive and fulfilling life.


Falsely accusing a man of rape, particularly if it leads to prison time, is just as horrible and maybe worse since there is no opportunity to heal, move on, or participate in any of the kind of activities & events that can even resemble a normal life.

But the level of deceit, and lies that are necessary to bring such heinous accusations, to ruin someone’s life like that, to put that cloud of suspicion over them, when untrue, is betrayal on a next level.

Both are bad, however would you rather be falsely accused or have 4 big guys grab you off the street, throw you in the boot of a car, drive you for an hour to a house. Hold a knife to you, telling you they will kill you if you make a noise.

They then gag you, strip off your clothes and each takes turns fucking your arse without lube, holding a knife to your throat.
This goes on all night, your arse is in agony, your throat sore from having it fucked.

You hear them discussing killing you or not.

They then spend the next day doing the same, beating you up a bit in between, maybe burning you with cigarettes.

yes a false accusation is horrendous and can ruin a persons life, they may end up in prison.
You have people wrongly accused of murder and other crimes, it’s really bad, however there are worse things.

On the flipside, being raped won't make you unemployable. Even accusations of rape proven to be completely false result in people losing their jobs and never being able to find another.

Ultimately though, it is silly to treat it as a competition.

Both are HORRIBLE and by the way false allegations not only hurt the innocent person accused it also harms real victims of rape.

But I think that rape is worse. Somebody can win a criminal trial and sue the living hell out of a person who slandered them. A person can’t be unraped.

I have never been raped or accused of raping someone. So I can’t speak for people who have. But I can imagine both situations are horrible.

I would say equally bad. False accusations of rape should have the same sentence as rape because you can literally fuck someone's life up as if they did rape someone. Women that accuse me of raping when they did nothing of the sort have a special place in hell (I don't believe in hell, but they definitely deserve the worst).

Rape is never good, but false accusations stick with a person forever as well. Also, the more accusations that are brought out to be false, the worse it is for the actual raped victims.

I don't know if you can ever cope with the psychological trauma of being raped by visiting therapy.

but i do know that now ammount of therapy can remove a stigma on you. that's definitely permanent no matter what you do. just look at jonny depp. his career was completely ruined and even though he was redeemed in court, his career is still done for.

False accusations. That lasts forever and can destroy your life to the point of no return. Rape is awful and rapists should be dealt with properly. It can destroy a life but one can always come back from it with support and time

That's a pernicious question. Both are devastating to the victim. That's like asking if it's worse to be murdered or have a loved one murdered. Obviously most people would rather die than suffer the loss.
