Against. I will not fight for this country.

The politicians and the population who support them are guilty of treason.

This country is actively against me, working against my interests.

We let in 700k a year net. House prices have become stupidly expensive. They quantitatively eased to the tune of 900 billion, essentially making our money worthless. All for a bad flu season. They paid healthy people to sit at home, with my taxes, now the country has a national debt of 100% of gdp. They coerced people to get a novel experimental medical intervention, rather than telling them what was really necessary, to lose some weight. Get on a treadmill.

They have effectively criminalised protest. You're more likely to be arrested for posting something naughty on twitter than committing a burglary. I get totally buggered in taxes to support the third world, to bring up their kids. Why would I fight for a country that does not have freedom of speech?

Art and culture are also dead here. There's no good comedy. When I turn on the TV, I often think I'm watching Nigerian TV. They have all this wokeism juxtaposed against the Pre-Raphaelites. Tis an interesting contrast. Cause you can see art and culture contrasted against stark, literal, garbage.

Although I am in favor of repealing the 19th along with any other federal involvement or requirement on any individual activity including voting, which should be left to the States so that corruption can be manageable.

I am as much against a federal draft for the same reason. I recognize the need for the federal goverment to create a armies but I also think it should be done as it was originally by way of asking the States to raise troops.

As such the draft should be as it was originally a State issue of calling people up for militia service. It is likewise under that same militia service's constitutional limits that all individuals so drafted must be used.

That some states would require a little more effort if they don't outright refuse is a key safety measure. A standing army after all is the single greatest threat to any republic or democracy (if democracies didn't murder themselfs regardless). Keeping it at least nominally in many hands rather than 1 is the best security we have for its day to day management.

This of course presumes of course that the feds let the Federal army collapse after every war as they did until world war 2.

I have two reasons I do not support this type of idea.

The main reason is that I do not think there should be a draft for anybody ever. If everybody agrees we need to fight, for example if somebody is invading our country, there will be more than enough people willing to fight. If not enough people are willing to fight, that is prob. because they do not think it is a war worth fighting which seems to me to be the more common type of war in recent years.

The other reason is that I can just say honestly that sending me with an army to fight some other country would be a minus. I would not be good at it, would not want to be there, and it would prob. distract other soldiers, and if it’s not just me but a whole lot of people similar to me the problem is that much bigger. Even in a giant war like world war 2 not everybody was in the army, you need people doing other things as well and I would be a lot more helpful doing some of those other things, like I could be a nurse or I could help build airplanes or whatever.

A person should not have to sign up for the draft in order to vote! Voting is a privilege.
Signing up for the draft should have nothing to do with voting!

It's not if you vote you're going to get a new car or something. It means you might have to go to war and possibly die. It's a lot to consider.

I think it will deter a lot of people from voting. They might just say forget it.

This is not a good idea at all no matter what gender you are! And this shouldn't be about gender either!

So, it's three separate issues.

There are many, many women serving in our military🇺🇸. God bless all of the people in our military.

I don’t care about voting anyways, politicians on the right and left buy their votes 🗳️ The government is seen as a God by the public, do as you’re told and say. Governments will tell us to vote for them but barely fix anything and not hold true to their promises. Meanwhile those same politicians will initiate war to risk their life for “democracy”, what democracy? So the super ultra rich and power live and peasants die? No thanks. I would not fight for a country that commits genocide and terrorist and deem that as patriotism and freedom.

Politicians would be less inclined to rush to war if they never had a supply of cannon fodder. Why do we need to spend billions on maintaining an army if you can just conscript people and have them ready to fight in a few weeks? It seems silly that at the moment the military rejects loads of willing potential recruits yet will draft in any fat Fecker when things kick off.

As for voting, turn out is so low anyway its hard to see how one vote every 4 years is much of a bribe.

If the options are women ages 18-25 register for the draft or all women are denied the right to vote, obviously I'd rather register.

I don't see why there couldn't be the option of stop forcing men ages 18-25 to register for the draft though. Let people register voluntarily—of both sexes—or just be done with it. It's not like a draft will even be very effective if it ever has to be done again anyway. It's kind of pointless now.

Against, democracy should not force me to do something I do not wish to do. My body is my body, and I should have a right to say what kind of rules are imposed on it regardless if I make myself available or not. Anything that is not democratic I refuse to comply with by default.

Nah, not with "my" current government. I do not wish to instantly become cannon fodder for some foreign government's benefit. However, it might work wonders under Trump - though after the bloodbath of the war with China that he's going to launch, isolationist and pacifist governments would repeatedly get elected for the foreseeable future with such a voting body. Well... The whole world would catch a breath, only to catch fire moments later, I guess.

I would prefer if selective service isn't mandatory for either sex but I'll take that over what we have now. Service guarantees citizenship makes a lot more sense now that we have seen the advent if the 2010s and 20s
