The term, 'bitch' is actually a very favorable, complimentary adjective to describe a woman, in my opinion, but just to make sure she knows I mean it in only the most glowing way, I usually use the term, 'Bitch Goddess'.

Why no middle ground vote?
I would’ve said, “It was intended to hurt men by comparing them to a snarky / off putting woman” although since it is ‘femininely targeted’ it could hurt women more? Although I don’t believe that since calling someone a, “Dick!” OR saying, “Grow Some Balls!”, it is intended to hurt men however probably hurts women/men the same since it is an insult after all.

My conclusion, an insult is an insult regardless of gender.
