Trump has 6 or 8 people in mind. They are all good picks for different reasons. Marco Rubio will appeal to Hispanics, Tim Scott appeals to black Americans, Doug Burgam has a background in business like Trump did. Others like Elise Stefanik and Byron Donald's lack name recognition. They are currently in the House and there is such a slim majority there it might be unwise to reduce their numbers anymore. .. Personally I think J. D. Vance would be the best choice. He would appeal to young voters and would drive the MAGA movement for many years to come. He comes from middle America and is very articulate and intelligent.

@DrPepper12 I have heard about this book but have not read it. I think Ron Howard and the rest of the Hollywood elites miss the point of the whole thing. The people in Appalachia and surrounding areas were the Americans that have been sold out by politicians for the last 50 years . Factories were closed by the hundreds, coal mining was killed off by the global warming kooks, and the government did nothing to replace those jobs or devise another way to live. In 2016 Donald Trump came to visit and talked about trying to bring manufacturing back to America and stop the exodus of good jobs to foreign countries. They voted for Trump in record numbers. Trump did create good paying jobs particularly in the steel industry but still had a lot of work to do in his second term. Instead, a lot of his policies that were helping were reversed in the next administration. Living in poverty is tough no matter where you live. The cities get all the welfare benefits because they get all the news coverage. When was the last time a news crew was sent to a town whose biggest employer was a now defunct coal mine?

There were around 11,300 jobs in iron, steel mills, and ferroalloy manufacturing when Trump took office in January 2017.
By August 2020, the steel industry had shed 1,900 jobs nationwide since Trump took office.
Major steel plants like U. S. Steel's Great Lakes Works in Michigan were idled or downsized, resulting in thousands of layoffs, DESPITE Trump's 25% steel tariffs.
Studies estimate Trump's steel tariffs led to at least 75,000 job losses in metal-using industries by the end of 2019 due to higher steel costs. HE LOST JOBS AND CAUSED INFLATION!!

@DrPepper12 I visited a local company that does. metal fabrication for the electronics industry. They buy millions of dollars worth of sheet metal and other finished steel items. When I visited this place it was 6 or7 months after the tariffs and the steel companies that were their suppliers all of a sudden could not produce enough product to satisfy the sudden demand. It is no coincidence that US Steel was sold to the Japanese this year.
Any statistic you hear from the Biden administration is probably a flat out lie. The latest whopper is the BS that Biden had brought drug prices down for Medicare co-pays. When I first heard his I thought that this was something Trump was working on. I heard yesterday that I was right. It really was Trump that capped the price of insulin to 35 dollars. and lowered the price on other medications. Biden may have said it resulted in 75000 job losses in the steel industry but what he didn't say was that those job losses were in China.
