Hate to break it to everyone, the majority require voter ID and the systems that don’t just allow registration since undocumented immigrants / visitors from outside the country / those not voting in the state they currently reside in CAN’T REGISTER/CAN’T VOTE (felt like it had to be emphasized I’m not screaming it)
As long as you are registered, show your identification to prove it is you who filled it out, you can vote.
For Voter ID, you need to bring an ID specifically for the expressed purpose of voting however don’t need to bring identification since those that acquired such an ID & have the identification correct would mean you are LEGALIZED TO VOTE! (For the same reasons I’ve mentioned before)
I don’t care if it is required in all states, I just think it wouldn’t be the end of the world if we didn’t.
For the good of the country we need fair elections. Nobody has faith in the election process after 2020
Definitely yes. I worked at the voting polls a few times as a teenager. There are seriously some wild people that will try to vote twice or act crazy in there. It's best to show ID to make sure they only vote once and know who they are when entering the building just in case the cops need to be called on them.
I never understood why was this a big deal in the United States. Where I live, you can't vote without showing your ID.
So yes, I think it should be required.

Absolutely! There is no valid reason to not require ID.
There is no real reason why an ID should be required, especially with electronic voting. Like honestly, it would be so convenient if the government just made an app that you could log into with some government issued login and then just vote from there. Easy, no fuss, no stupid stamps on your hands and no having to line up to get a stupid sticker for your trouble. You can even do it from home or from work or wherever.
Too easy to hack …. hopefully a retina scan will be our future
Every hacker in the world would try and take down that app and probably succeed …. that will be the start of our first EMP then what? Good old pencil and paper will always work
Again, you can make it as difficult to hack as you want, which include making it so hacking one does not allow you to hack another. Likewise taking down the app would be difficult since you can control how it connects and distribute it from anywhere you want.
If you are going to make arguments where you take down the app then you might as well also speculate on how easy it would be to physically intercept the paper votes. For example, they need to travel from A to B and even if you have no intentions of adding fake votes you can very much just hijack the vehicle and set it on fire or something.
Unironically it would be easier to secure digital votes than real ones since it would not require you to mobilize the military.
Agree to disagree
Electronic voting will still require some sort of ID.
@WindAtMyBack Not necessarily and definitely not as its being implied in the question.
It might not be a physical ID, but it still requires some way to uniquely identify people.
@WindAtMyBack As I said, not necessarily. You need to identify the votes themselves and not the people. As long as every person gets access to one vote it does not really matter who is holding that vote, just that one person has one vote.
No. We're adding a tax to a fundamental right.
There's already pre registration that is conveniently online. Mail in ballots for military people over seas. How does that make sence? Mail out your government ID till you get it back?
The reality is we are conflating the responsibility of having a photo ID with a drivers license and buying vice tax products. we do have the convenience of registration to vote
VOTING IS NOT A PRIVLAGE. It is a fundamental right.
If volunteer voting areas scan the bar code to a database on the back to double check it is the registered person I would conceade my point.
The reality is historically poor, disenfranchised, minorities didn't need photo day to day so they didn't get them. Rich People wanted to stop them from voting and created photo Id law. Not to stop fake voter but to take away poor people's rights.
Video after video of minorities saying what they talking about? I have ID we all have ID 🤣🤣🤣
lol I’m not the one saying stuff that isn’t true

Who can and cannot vote
Learn if you meet the qualifications to vote in federal, state, and local elections.
Who can vote?
You can vote in U. S. federal, state, and local elections if you:
Are a U. S. citizen (some areas allow non-citizens to vote in local elections only)
Meet your state’s residency requirements. You can be experiencing homelessness and still meet these requirements.
Are 18 years old on or before Election Day. In almost every state, you can register to vote before you turn 18 if you will be 18 by Election Day.
Some states allow 17-year-olds who will be 18 by Election Day to vote in primaries.
Are registered to vote by your state's voter registration deadline. North Dakota does not require voter registration.

Hillary said it's racist, because black people can't afford it. It was pointed out to her that is was free. So Hillary switched gears and said that black people can't get to the ID place. It was then pointed out to her that they would send a mobile lab out to those folks. Hillary's face turned red, and she shut her lying trap.
Usually I would say YES but nowadays I’m going to say NO because it will give a chance for non-citizens to vote & get something else for free. Free housing, free food, free education & more. Meanwhile veterans & legal citizens are homeless, losing homes, can’t afford to buy food or take a trip to the doctor or live.
Maybe citizens should give up their citizenship for better benefits.
Of course they should require an ID. I've been showing IDs my entire life. It's only been recently that some people managed to take common sense and twist it around into something it's not.
One person, one vote. The only way to reasonably ensure that is some type of ID.
The idea of not requiring an ID is taking absurdity to a whole new level.
Yes absolutely. Is a foreigner or illegal immigrant that wants to encourage their culture and not "do as the Romans do" supposed to get a vote? That's a dangerous and slippery slope. We're already losing culture with mass immigration in the past few years.
yes... and with photography, and should be renovated on a periodical basis
In California I have known people that get a driver's license even though they don't pass the test!
That's an ID card!
Yes. I see no reason not to.
when send your vote, provide pic of your ID. etc..
If no ID, go get an ID.
duh...
Without ID you can vote mulitple times, this would be the end of democracy.
absolutely yes. Those that say its racist are the racists. it suggests that minorities are too stupid and too poor to have adequate ID
If you need ID for everything else then you need ID to vote. If you need ID for everything else and that is not racist, then ID for voting is not racist. NO ID NO VOTE.
Normally, I might say, no but, with the millions of illegals in the country, now, ABSOLUTELY!
Yes, to ensure you vote once and in the right place.
If I have to show ID to buy a gun which is a constitutional right then you better show ID to vote which isn’t a constitutional right
You need ID to buy beer.
but voter ID is "racist" just like paternity tests are "sexist"
Yes, so the person can't go to another pole and vote more than once.
Yes because what´s the alternative. Trusting that people just vote once?
Nope it discriminates against the disabled. Here in the UK tjis was the first General Election to have ID voting.
No, it only came up after Trump's bullshit. The vast majority of election fraud was committed by republican voters.
lol let the 10 million illegals vote for the vegetable…got it
This came up decades ago. lol
I can't vote on this poll - because I don't know where my ID is.
Absolutely, there is no reason not to.
Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.
YES!
Yes this way they know you're still alive
Yes.
Simple answer YES.
