only exception that should be allowed is those who served their time in the military. whether they have no children or not, they put their lives on the line to fight for their nation

Some jobs (and shifts) are easier for a single, non-married person to take because their personal situation is less complicated. Those who have kids and families to tend to can't always accept every available job.
