How did you like Michael Obamas speech at the DNC?

I thought she rocked the speech, on the level of oration.
So…look…the RNC and DNC are just big parties thrown FOR the Party, BY the Party, right? So we have to take all of it with the appropriate sprinkle of salt.
That said…. I think one of the somewhat illegitimate practices that goes on in politics today is stifling conversations about ideas and practices based upon “but did YOU personally do that? If not, then shut up.”, and I don’t find that to be particularly valid.
The whole “Rules for thee and not for me” concept is just a very human element that just is going to always and forever be there. Humans are hypocrites, humans don’t always put their money where their mouths are…. but that doesn’t render the overall idea wrong and mean that we shouldn’t work towards certain things just because we feel like we personally sacrificed more than the originator of the idea did. We can sit here and be mad that someone doing better than us is asking us to do with less, when we don’t feel that they will, but that’s life, man.
Also, being a President is lucrative after the fact. You get paid big money to show up places, to speak, to write books, and Michelle was a particularly intelligent First Lady so she’s still in demand too. So yeah, they’ll probably have nice homes in multiple places, and if you’re truly a capitalist, that shouldn’t offend you one bit, certainly no more than the right wingers with the same.
But the Obamas are rich, not necessarily wealthy. It’s really the WEALTHY that we’re worried about, the Elon Musks, the Bill Gateses, the Jeff Bezoseseseseses🤪 of the world, people with BILLIONS. These people use America as a vehicle to become wealthy, so pay into that system, A LOT. They’ll still be crazily wealthy, the difference between having $50B and $100B, lifestyle-wise…. what’s the difference? Capitalism has gotten out of control and needs more guardrails.
The point of society in general shouldn’t be “well, some people sink, some people swim, and it just is what it is”, it should be to make sure EVERYONE is surviving to a reasonable level. It’s iterally the only respectable way to run a society, and anything with an attitude of “well, I’d be ok, but some strangers might not be, but that’s not my problem” is extremely shameful, in my opinion. That’s a complete abandonment of decency in my eyes. Like we’re fucked as a country if all of just wake up and go for self each day. I thoroughly reject the American capitalist ideal of “making it to the top is more important than who you step on to get there.”
But as far as the Obamas…. we’re talking like they wouldn’t have to pay more in taxes themselves. Do we have any legitimate reason to believe that’s true? Otherwise it just seems like a hollow conversation-stopper to just claim that anybody rich who doesn’t renounce all their worldly possessions isn’t allowed to make societal suggestions about wealth accumulation.
Yes we should all give up something so our "newcomers" can have a nice life. You go first.

One rule for thee and another rule for me. That is how the elite left works.
Michelle Obama's speeches, including those at the Democratic National Convention (DNC), are often praised for their powerful delivery and inspirational content. Her addresses typically highlight themes of unity, hope, and resilience, and she has a reputation for connecting with a broad audience through personal anecdotes and a focus on shared values.
Her speeches are generally well-received for their eloquence and emotional impact, and they play a significant role in shaping public perception and galvanizing support. If you have specific aspects of her speech that you found noteworthy or impactful, I'd love to hear about them!
Are you a BOT?
@pinup_scarlett46 Are you a bot? Why the A. I responses on all your comments?
I'm all for rich motherfuckers turning their multiple opulent homes into shelters for the underprivileged and allowing homeless to camp on their lawns in droves.
Each estate should be able to provide for hundreds.
Go for it Michael and Barry.
Great idea. I'd like to hear her respond to that.
I've never heard of Michael Obama...
I haven't watched any of the DNC so I didn't watch Michelle Obama's speech. I did see a recap of it where several items were fact-checked; some were true, some were okay with clarification, and some were false.
I have deliberately NOT watched or listened to anything or anyone at the DNC event. I've only watched short video clips that have been posted on Twitter. I don't subscribe to anything regarding the Democrat agenda, except for their dislike of the on-going IDF atrocities against Palestinians.
Did the Obamas have some red headed step child? Hadn’t heard of Michael Obama 😂
Typo wish I could edit it
lol I know. im just being facetious. To answer your question, i feel that mandated sharing of one’s wealth is wrong and goes against freedom and personal choice. Ideally however, someone of wealth feels a desire to give, not because he or she is forced to or because they want to serve some self interest, but because it is right.

Your wit calling her Michael is razor sharp and innovative!! Not like the crass proletariat who just mumble "Big Mike" and giggle at their own hilarity. Kudos to you for your unique contribution to erudite dialogue!
It’s a simple typo lol
It was dreamy! But of a farce trying to undermine her message by supporters of a corporate elite that worship billionaires though, don’t ya think?
The suites above her speech went for 500,000 by corporate elites that she stated she was going to go after... makes ya think.
Bake more pies, instead of trying to take the peasants' slices. But royalty doesn't care about this concept.
She's the scum of the Earth. She gets a million bucks to speak, and she also plays the race card.
It was better than the one Scamala gave! At least big Mike showed up!!
Watch out!
That speech is her trial run for the POTUS candidacy just like her husband's many years ago.
If she would of ran this year she would of won
I can at least say that she is a better candidate than giddy, giggly Kamala.
I'm impressed at the originality of this question
The Lion the witch and the audacity of this bitch.
once again hee was obnoxious and not humble at all and was critical harris/biden whetether micheal knew it or not
That's Big Mike... I heard pie is code for Barack's ass...
@coachTanthony Do American’s still listen to that false info and trust it?
Weird
Still more in touch than a billionaire saying that he will fight for the poor people of America living in trailers LOL
