If you believe feminism is about equality between men and women, what has it done in the modern day to bring about such supposedly positive change for both genders?

If you believe feminism is only about female empowerment, why do you believe that and do you consider it a positive or negative thing? Has it brought men and women closer together or farther apart?

Equality for both. How does it benefit men?
The goal of feminism is to deconstruct the patriarchy which has negative effects on both women and men. Part of this is the effect gender roles and social expectations have on men. Feminism wants to deconstruct toxic masculinity, raise boys who have healthy and safe outlets for their emotions and who can take accountability for their actions. No more boys will be boys. No more boys don't cry.

It gives men the opportunity to actually raise their children. Taking paternity leave to enjoy those first moments with their partner and baby.

Not to be expected to be the sole breadwinner (though inflation is doing a great job at that)

Be free to enjoy hobbies without feeling ashamed that they could be viewed as feminine. Overall a lot less negativity surrounding just liking or enjoying something that isn't typically masculine.

Boys are supposed to be boys. They’re not girls. And women don’t want a man who cries. They’re weak. Men need to be dangerous but also able to control themselves. See Jordan Peterson for more on the subject.

Men need to work. Men have to feel as though they have a purpose. Women are happier at home with the kids. Men need a way to escape more and then otherwise the woman will drive him fucking crazy.

The hobby thing depends on the individual and doesn’t have to be done in groups or spoken about among other men if it’s something considered feminine. No one needs to know if a man wants to knit, for example. I don’t see anything wrong with that. Most men won’t give a shit.

This doesn't work for men. The whole boys should cry for example will kill a relationship if done wrong. Girls seek strong partners, of course they want them to cry when appropriate but he also needs to show her that in normal life he has the strength to lead. If not and she constanrly sees him crying or if he's crying over very little things she will probably leave him.

Men are perfectly fine working a full time job and seeing their children in the weekend or evening and if not they already have the freedom to get a part time job. We don't need a movement for that.

Meanwhile feminism destroyed so much. This whole concept that women should go to a very long education path and join the work force by default is a terrible idea when mixed with the concept of both parents working. Now you are forced to and the kids are put in day care since all the women working allowed the economy to degrade to the point that a single income is not sustainable which means the important task of raising children properly is no longer fulfilled by a stay at home parent. Meanwhile there are so many women deeply unhappy with their full time job that would have wanted to be stay at home moms wishing they could spend more time with their children.

And I am not saying that women shouldn't have a right to education and shouldn't have a right to work. But I am saying that forcing women to go to school / uni their entire childhoods is a terrible idea. She should have the early choice of just being at home if she wants to, and that role needs to be celebratrd by society because ite an extremely important and value role.

As a result you got way more unhappy people than before and way more poorly raised children.

Not inflation and I don't blame it on women being educated and working either. So you didn't understand my point I am making.

What I am saying is that the price of goods can only rise to a point before people can't afford it. Inflation happens regardless due to external factors but there is a difference. If there is only one parent working at a time this will create a natural "This is to expensive won't buy" response, if both parents are working simultaneously since then they have some extra income for some extra luxury prices can rise to a level where its no longer a luxury to have two incomes but it becomes essential to have two incomes and that a big mistake. So its not women working that's the issue, its two incomes that is the issue. If its co-parenting in such a way that on the day the women works the man is home looking after the children there is no issue being created.

The reason I bring forced education into the mix is because I am against the education system in general and because I see the destructive effects. I am against a women being forced to be in class all the time since it creates this perverse incentive that she can basically only have a sense of having a good childhood where this was worth it if she now pursues a career. This negates the value and importance of mothers. From an early age the girl should have the option to aspire to become a full time mother. I'm not saying forced to become a mother, I'm not saying not allowed to pursue a career if she prefers. I am saying don't force her into a career path.

I bet there are multiple guys who can back me up here for being left over being perceived as weak by their partner. I had one moment of true weakness myself and it sowed doubt in her mind if I was capable while she was otherwise insanely supportive when I was showing my emotions. Even though she knew I was normally strong and that moment was an outlier due to sleep deprivation torture, that one moment haunted her a bit.

Most families using combined income = two incomes level prices. Majority has a single income? I am, but who else? Its only people raising the alarm when two income families can't get by anymore.

Obviously there are no resources for it, I don't have land with no land available and I don't have the infrastructure or financing to obtain the infrastructure a modern society needs. But if I was given the opportunity to be a countries dictator for as long as I see fit I expect that society to thrive and end up in a functioning democracy. As for the MGTOW... I do not personally follow their ideals, since I still do have some limited hope for the Western societies, fueled by a few women on GaG, some of them in their mid-twenties, like me, who apparently comprehend this dire situation to the point that they, like me, advocate for unity between men and women. However, I commend the MGTOW for their dedication and would totally support any MGTOW communities that might actually secede from the societies and face certain life-threatening shortages as a result, even if I had to closely cooperate with the still-sane women to procure any supplies for those MGTOW (as a matter of fact, I would be glad to closely cooperate with sane women, since I might actually find a girlfriend through such a charity). Since the MGTOW would most likely label me as "an Infected", since I do come into contact with women, I'd even be able to supply them without any interaction for their comfort (think dumping a truckful of supplies in the middle of the night in some settlement they might erect). Now... While the MGTOW philosophy might be radical, even too radical for me, it's by no means a shipwreck. It's almost guaranteed to work, albeit in exchange for a particularly painful sacrifice. Ugly truth be told if men really wanted to they could easily forcefully and brutally force women back into servile positions in society. How could a phrase that explicitly denotes to be about females also mean “equality” between men and women? What the phrase really means is “equal but special”. This isn’t a new concept either. My Response: Feminism is about empowering women in seeing themselves in a goal founded in determination, hopes, skills, dreaming, and getting stuff done. With that drive, they can achieve so much. When you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything is a neutral idea though it is utilized in feminism to empower also embolden women to do what they were born to do / never sell themselves short with love & support & warmth as the core.

Second facet is also equality. Allowing progress, inclusion and a spot for everyone to move forward. Basic human decency is what they are after since so much negativity, hatred, anger comes at them just for being different / breaking new ground…. Women deserve love, respect, support, and a place for them to feel whole.

There is toxic feminism in the same way there is toxic masculinity, though I am focusing on the positive one since the majority of women aren’t like this in the same way majority of men aren’t like this. Let’s reach out with compassion, love in our hearts, and support each other putting humans over labels.

Especially in this new era, some women who say that men have become princesses in 2024, they want the housework to be done together, but when it comes to paying the bill, they say you are a man, you pay. If feminism was really about equality you would see feminists advocating for forcing women to register for selective service, be equally represented in dirty, dangerous, and low paying jobs such as ditch digger, default 50/50 child custody, and reforming the family court system. Regarding hiring, it's definitely not about equality. Many fields specifically want female employees to fill quotas, it's not about a merit based hiring system. Also, it's very focused about having more female members of higher management, and no one is concerned with the lowly manual labour sector being hugely male dominated.
