What is the logic behind not needing an ID to vote?

Everyone has an ID. Poor people have ID, you literally need one for a bank account, tobacco/alcohol purchases, and basically every single government function.

Minorities are insulted by ignorance of those who think they're so poor and stupid they have no access to transportation or the Internet and live without an ID of any kind.

Why would you not need to prove you are who you are to vote in the USA when most other countries mandate it?

Yes I know not literally every single last individual has an ID. I was speaking generally, the far majority of US citizens have an ID (I can't imagine the scholarly academics with no ID care to vote but that's not the point).

I've got a better question. Why doesn't the federal government provide us with a free national ID (that we call a passport) on our 18th birthday? It's automatic proof of identity and citizenship.

If an organization needs proof of residency that's also easy to provide via utility bills or driver's license.

That's part of the reason for conservative whining & complaints, undocumented residents DO have utilities and those utility bills do not have a photo but just the same they PROVE residency which is enough to vote in LOCAL elections which should be encouraged as all RESIDENTS are stakeholders in local schools, police, fire, EMS, sanitation, etc.

Voter ID just makes it faster to go through the polling place though shouldn’t be mandatory.

Voter ID contains your address, full name, registration, Identification like a Driver’s License, etc. the same if you took those exact same papers to the polling place so yes it has connivence however if they are the same people should have a right to choose how they showcase their information to be verified as a legal citizen of the United States of America who can / will vote.

By making Voter ID mandatory it puts roadblocks to those who don’t live near a govt facility to get it done and since on paper it is the same as the other method it is identical and has no real value since it was and still is illegal for a non citizen to vote / their votes never go counted in US Elections.

It doesn't have to be a passport it's the 2 sources vs one source government way of doing paperwork. There are several other options, it's pretty accommodating.

Poor people have state IDs for the most part clearly. They still buy liquor, lottery tickets, Keno, and tobacco more than any demographic in the USA and you need an id for that.

Also State School college IDs have nothing but your name on them there's no DOB or any actual proof that's you on them.

The reason you can't do it in the polling place is because they at least in my country are not equipped with the right means of verifying a voter is who they say they claim. Here the system is that you bring a government verified / issued ID card either a personal ID, passport or drivers license to the polling place. And to make it so that people only vote once they also send you a personal voter card in the mail. You present your voting card which they take from you in exchange for a ballot after verifying the information matches on the ID you brought with you. And to ensure everyone can vote they allow up to 5 years of expirey on your identification. Meanwhile the ID's you have to bring with you are mandatory to have in my country since if you get a police stop they ask for them to. That means everyone can vote and there is no barrier, and voting is speedy. Nobody is excluded by how the dutch system works and the US should adopt it.

Also for context, I am in a country with a working voting system requiring both ID identification and a voter ID card that gets mailed to you so you can only vote once. This is possible for 100% of eligible voters since its mandatory to have them here for other reasons. We had a 77.7% turnout and the people who don't turn out usually do so because they do not care or do not believe in democracy.

I have been thought that "Everyone does not have an ID" is the exact same thing as "Nobody has an ID", you are claiming otherwise. So, since you are the one claiming the difference. What is the difference between everyone not qualifying for something and nobody qualifying for something.
