Anonymous(30-35)1 yFeminism went off the rails years ago. Today's feminism is a toxic disaster that has been doing a lot of harm to society and gender relations. People who say they support feminism, but not the bad elements, are naive and misguided. If you support feminism today, it's today's feminism you are supporting. Open your eyes.

Opinion Owner1 y@slatyb Seriously?
Opinion Owner1 y@slatyb @slatyb There are so many examples, it's hard to imagine any honest person not recognizing them, especially a "man" like you. But since you as a "man" apparently need to be reminded, here's an example. Feminism always assumes the worst of men. It takes literally ANYTHING a man does and spins it to make it bad or selfish, even when it involves giving his woman pleasure. And don't bother telling me this is not feminism. It is absolutely the result of the anti-male mindset feminism has instilled in today's women.

There are countless other examples and obviously I can't list all of them, but I'll offer a few. Feminism has made it very clear their some of their goals were to destroy the nuclear family and convince women that fathers are unnecessary, and they have been very successful at doing so. The result has been a skyrocketing rate of children raised without a father, and that has had a very negative impact on children of both sexes and the adults they become, and of course western society as a whole.

Opinion Owner1 y@slatyb Feminism has created an ever-widening divide between men and women. Now that men have begin taking a page from feminism and started playing the victim and mongering hate toward the opposite sex, we have a gender war that is a vicious cycle of ever increasing anti-male and anti-female rhetoric that each side blames the other for. Feminists now blame the very "manosphere" they themselves caused for the problems women face.
Today's feminism is an example of what a movement becomes after it has achieved all of it's achievable and valid goals. It has to invent new "problems" just to remain relevant. I listened to a podcast recently hosted by two feminist women about the future of feminism. They talked about this very issue and stated that feminism will always be relevant because they will always be able to find issues to fight for. They gave examples of the "fact" that climate change disproportionally affects women. Huh? That's the ubiquitous victim mindset feminism has instilled in women. They will twist anything to make it a men-against-women issue.
Today's feminism is a movement looking for a cause, and doing a lot of harm to both sexes along the way. It needs to go away and be replaced by a movement that ACTUALLY cares about the welfare of both sexes and unites rather than divides men and women.
Opinion Owner1 y@thegreenyogi Thank you for MHO! It's heartening to know there are good women who acknowledge the harm feminism is doing.

Of course I support it but only as long as it is a movement towards equality between women and men and not a movement spreading hate towards men.

Women are now forced to adopt male roles they often don't even enjoy all that much. Women spaces are taken over by trans women which the feminist movement supports and they encourage discrimination against men.
If you want equal oppertunity or as I like to call it fair criterea to be hired you can just advocate that directly. Don't advocate for a moment on false pretenses thats different from that in practise.

@slatyb Different issue but also a significant issue yes. If you can support the family on a single income thats good. It means your economy but at least you is jn balance. Things are as they should be to where if your partner wants to be a mother she can be enabled by you. I'd consider that a working outcome as it should be. Problem is that when in society most families opt to have dual income house holds prices can rise to accomodate that and thats a problem.

Housing prices aren't rising because of two-income families. They are rising because we haven't built enough homes to meet demand. Why? Because in many growing cities there is no where they can be built. Here in Seattle about 90% of the city is zoned R-1: single family housing. So it's not possible to build apartments in most of the city. The land where apartments can be built is expensive because it's in short supply. Construction costs are high. It costs something like $300K per unit to build. It's not possible to sell condos for less than that, or to rent new apartments for less than about $2500/month.
And don't you think that women who want to work should have that choice?
Anonymous(25-29)1 yI don't consider myself a feminist. I mean I believe in original feminism and am grateful for the rights and protections women have today because of it. But I'll be honest, feminism today is nothing like the original movement was. I think if the courageous women who fought for women's rights many decades ago could see what passes as feminism today, they would be heart broken.
I support equal rights and opportunities for everyone, regardless of sex, gender, race, age, or whatever. But I don't need to align myself with any particular movement to do that. I feel like feminism is doing more harm than good now, which is sad. I won't support feminism unless the movement take a turn for the better and starts being more supportive of everyone and less toxic and divisive.

u 1 ynot really a thing in my life... never had the need to actually be concerned with it, but that's mostly because at least around here... there's social issues and social causes, rather than gender causes...
"feminism" is something I only notice online, and at that, doesn't make much sense, as it is mostly noise from all kinds of nonsense people10 Reply
1 yI'm opposed to anything that calls for my death, imprisonment, or the abolition of my rights. When it does so not for anything I've said or done, but simply because of the demographic characteristics I was born with? That's something that has to be destroyed.

feminists can claim feminism is about equality but their actions dictate otherwise
even modern day feminism isn't about women's rights either when trans rights come before them. motherhood is seen as more oppressive than being stuck in a corporate job and pro-life women aren't even regarded as real women

What classes as "feminism" in the USA is not what it is in France or Japan, for example.

1 yI didn't see any issue with the original meaning of it, it seems that now it's just been taken out of it's purpose and it's completely become a toxic movement now, which sucks for women that are sticking behind the true purpose of it.

Yep, have you not seen the behavior of modern feminism?
- 1 y
It is no longer fighting for equality, it's fighting for superiority, which kinda defeats the whole purpose of feminism, unless it's seeking for power rather than equality.
