From 2:27:17 to 2:28:00 mark VP Vance claims that women will go on TikTok and celebrate having abortions. He has also stated that he knew women personally who had abortions for medical purposes or felt as if they were trapped and that's understandable and he doesn't judge them for that. However, he says that women are baking cakes and posting about celebrating an abortion and that the act of doing so is bizarre to him.

Victims don’t celebrate getting the healthcare they need in dire times. I have yet to hear of a phenomenon. JD Vance definitely doesn’t know enough women open to the idea of getting an abortion or reproductive healthcare procedure done to save her life. I would think as a politician wanting to be VP, he would’ve looked into that. Nope.

When you are a victim of rape, incest, sexual assault, child sex abuse, birth control failure, etc. I don’t think you are celebrating getting the basic healthcare you need to look after your own body from something outside your control. I will repeat, outside your control since no one asks for birth control failures, to be raped, to be sexually abused by a male family member & impregnated, or sexually assaulted or be a child victim, etc.

Imagine dying because doctors & nurses refused to remove your miscarriage because Roe V. Wade was rejected which meant deeply Red States could punish the healthcare staff with possible jail time / revoking their licenses for performing a simple operation to save your life…. Imagine dying because doctors & nurses refused to do an abortion early on knowing you were at a high risk pregnancy level and would surely die if continued because Roe V. Wade was rejected making the deep Red States put up penalties that fell on the backs of the healthcare providers.

They are victims, no one is celebrating when you are a victim unless that rapist, incestous, assaulter, child abuser bastard gets whats coming to him.

I'm from a deep red state (Alabama), and yes abortion is banned/100% illegal. Our governor's reasoning was, "even if the female was violently raped during assault or incest, she has to give birth cause every life is precious". So in my state women do have to travel out of state

I can see what he may have got that impression from. When my husband had gender-affirming surgery he didn't tell anyone ahead of time (except work supervisor and me, ofc), and a big reason for that was because he was scared but felt like he wasn't "allowed" to be.

He is very happy with the results, and doesn't regret the surgery at all. It was a serious medical procedure tho, and it came with all the risks and pain of that.

The celebrations you see of people who got abortions, surgeries, anything serious like that—it's not celebrating the procedure. It's celebrating the success the results. It's like celebrating being cancer free. You aren't celebrating having gone through chemo or surgery or whatever to get there, you're celebrating that it worked and that you are free now! Especially if it's something you couldn't always do (or you may not be able to do in the near future...) getting to choose a medical procedure and it works and fixes the problem, that's a good reason to celebrate! :)

I feel like yes there are women out here literally celebrating abortions and its insane to me. I understand the use of an abortion for medical reasons such as being diagnosed with ectopic pregnancy because the baby will not make it to full term and the mother will die. That's a legitimate reason for an abortion considering the baby is not growing in the correct place which leads to death on the babies part and severe hemorrhage for the mom until the point of death.
