He was pressured to drop out, but he left by choice. I think he wanted to make sure that there was no chance he could beat Trump before dropping out. If he knew he was going to drop out a while before he did, he chose a perfect time. Do it after the GOP convention where they spent the whole time focusing on age and mental decline, and campaigning against you. Then drop out and put your support behind the person who can motivate the base before the convention to get the most media coverage on them. The fact he picked what Trump fears the most (a nonwhite intelligent woman) was a pure stroke of brilliance. My mom joked that he would hate my dog because she's black and intelligent.

She isn’t intelligent and barely coherent. They chose her because her name was on the ballots and she had access to the money that had been collected. Her approval figures were dismal at that time. She never told us how bad Biden was, she told us he was sharp in June. She is a train wreck but that’s doesn’t matter.

@Twalli I respectfully disagree that it was his choice to drop out. Have you seen the recent video where he asks Obama if it's too late for him to be the candidate again. Joe Biden is not satisfied with Kamala Harris as candidate; he believes he could do better, and many Americans agree with him.

Biden was pushed out. Once the Dems realized they would lose the Presidential election, after Biden's poor debate showing that had him way behind Trump in polls, which would also give Republicans control of both houses of Congress (down-ballot voting), they dumped him. Sad. Joe Biden is a good man, sacrificed for the good of his party, though he was prompted to say for the good of the country.
