I'm happy for the people who kept protesting and putting pressure on the politicians. They really did great work :)

Now the supreme court has to uphold the impeachment and then the president will be kicked out and hopefully he will face criminal charges for what he did.

The lightstick of Kpop fans became a symbol of the protest. Many idols gave free food to the fans who were protesting. It was really a great success story :)

South Koreans deserve better than a wannabe dictator, I was very proud how they fought off the military and snuck Democratic Politicians into the legislative body to overrule the leader’s unpopular decision. They even set up makeshift barricades to keep his foot soldiers out of the proceeding to get the will of the people done & in a timely matter knowing the high stakes of the vote.

I hope he gets what’s coming to him.

The court will have to uphold the impeachment. And there's also a criminal investigation of the president going on for his attempted power grab and he's not allowed to leave the country atm. It'll take some time still but I think he will be removed and he will face concsequences.

I doubt their opinion matters much. Getting news from outside the country can get you the death penalty although some still do it. And the politicians don't really do much anyway, they may act threatening but nobody is really afraid that a war will break out. The truce is pretty stable. Also North Korea just sent troops to Ukraine.

He was already unpopular at 19% approval rating and then he treid to invoke martial law and basically become a dicatator. He claimed the opposition party was conspiring with North Korea to undermine the democracy of South Korea (while he was trying to destroy democracy) He already had a lot of things set up ahead of time he was gonna take control of this place where they keep the results of the elections and claim that the last election where his party lost was a fraud and stuff. But protestors and the opposition politicians basically ruined his plans and he had to revoke the martial law after 6 hours. He tried to do it at 10:30 pm by the way so nobody would be ready for it. After that his approval rating sank to 11% over the next two weeks and people were protesting every day for his impeachment. There were over 200 000 people at the parliament in the middle of winter. The first vote last weak failed because the entire party of the president boycotted it. But this time 12 members of the presidents party voted for the impeachment as well and that was enough to get the 200 out of 300 members of parliament barrier that you need to impeach a president.
