1 yThis is my only beef with the transwoman community.
Now, I know there are now puberty blocking drugs, which is a whole OTHER ball of wax that I'm highly on the fence about because of 11-14 year old CHILDREN deciding about changing their gender when they aren't fully adults and dont know the consequences of such actions... There's that. And PERHAPS these puberty blockers might prevent biological males from developing biologically male bodies which give said males a physical advantage over female athletes because biological males are taller, have more muscle mass, have stronger bones, longer arm length, narrower hips, so a different hip to leg ratio that gives them advantages in running and swimming sports and skiiing sports.
These same physical advantages mean the majority of biological males are stronger than the majority of biological females. This has been true for transwomen who were allowed in mixed martial arts and in swimming. These transwomen had distinct advantages over biological women.01 Reply- 1 y
The simple fact is transwomen or transmen are not physically equivalent to biological men and women. They may feel they are psychologically male or female trapped in the wrong body. And they may take hormones, and/or have surgeries to make them as close to biological males or females, as the case may be.
But a hormonally altered male to female remains a hormonally altered male. The same is true for a hormonally altered female to male. Surgery changes the exterior. If either the transman or transwomen stops taking hormones, they return to their birth biological state, whether they've had altering surgery or not.
Though the hormones mask much of the biological aspects of the former male or female, they do not mask all of it.
And women have had to fight very hard to make headway in sports. It seems ludicrous that a biological male who has physical advantages over a biological female wants to compete against a woman. It sounds a lot like this is the last bastion of being "kept out" of being a "complete "woman and transwomen have to break through this barrier. It is their last vestige of male privilege rearing its ugly head. And that transwomen can't see this is very sad.

1 yNo, transgender girls and women should not compete in female sports. If a sport exists only for females, then obviously only females should be allowed to participate. Biological sex is determined by a person's intended reproductive roles, not how a person personally feels internally. The sex chromosomes establish such reproductive roles. For instance, if a person has 46, XX chromosomes, she would be considered female and have the reproductive role of carrying and developing their potential offspring through pregnancy. If a person has 46, XY chromosomes, he would be considered male and have the reproductive role of providing the seed (sperm cells) to enable a pregnancy within the female. Transgender girls and women, regardless if they underwent sex-reassignment surgery or not, still have the intended reproductive role of producing sperm cells to enable a female pregnancy as established by their unchangeable XY,46 chromosomes. Therefore, transgender girls and women are still biologically male and will always be biologically male until biologists uncover a way to alter the sex chromosomes that establish reproductive roles. Because they are biologically male, they should not play any sport meant for biological females, plain and simple.

I think sports have rules, and thus in order to play those sports properly you must follow the rules. Most people tend to believe that as well, thus why we employ referees and judges to ensure all the rules are followed and all the points are tallied to determine who the winner is at the end of the game. If you create a female sport, then one of the rules by default would be that you are a female to play that sport. So no, just as a kick boxer is not allowed to wear ice skates to a fight, men can not play female sports. In both cases the rules are broken, and the sport is destroyed.

No from a biological and chemical perspective biological men have a significant physical advantage over woman even with hormone treatment and surgery. It's a simple fact that it is unfair to woman in sports. You don't have to like it but it's true regardless facts don't care about your feelings or your sexuality they simply are, and you have to accept them.

We're talking about 1% of 1% of people to begin with being transgender and even smaller fraction even wanting to do sports. Which 80% even trying out are just bad at the sport.
Transgender people get their throat cut in broad daylight and cops don't give a shit because they think they do it for attention in sport when in reality they are furry artists.
This sports thing is a complete smokescreen to cover murder and it's disgusting.
To be honest there isn't enough data to even start giving a fuck. Yet here we are cart before the horse answering your question. before transgenger people are even allowed to exist in the first place.
01 ReplyWrestling is NOT gender neutral. Women's wrestling has been a sport at the Olympics since 2004. At the high school level, when there isn't a separate girls' team, some girls do wrestle on boys teams. Although they usually get demolished. Men are stronger, faster, and have denser bones. The playing field is anything but level, even with weight classes.
1 yNah, im okay with trans people, they are usually chill, but i think they themselves and other people need to understand that they are biologically a man (talking about trans women in this instance), so this would clearly give them an unfair advantage in a womans sport.

1 yOh ffs it’s not the end of the world to desegregate sports. Like, fine, you don’t want physical sports like wrestling or hockey where blood gets regularly shed, I get that. But chess? Why the hell is CHESS segregated by gender? It’s a strategy game, you just use your brain and your hands, women brains and male brains are all the same gray matter. You don’t need to segregate every sport on planet earth.
08 Reply- 1 y
Women and men brain aren’t the same.
There is no physical difference between a male and female brain. If I stuck two disembodied brains in front of you and asked you to tell me which is male and which is female, you would not be able to answer me based on physical attributes alone. The way men and women are TAUGHT to think is different, yes, but their brains are not and if the sport is purely brain-based, segregating it by gender is just sexist.
- 1 y
Who told you that?
Men and women brain aren’t different.
Size on average, men's brains are 10% larger than women's.
Brain tissue, brain regions, they aren’t the same. Let me ask you this: do you genuinely believe size is somehow compatible to storage capacity? Humans aren’t computers analee
- 1 y
Well you said about there are no physical different between women and men’s brain, and that’s spread misinformation.
Okay, but do you believe that difference somehow gives men an advantage in intellectual sports like chess? Do you think it makes things unfair for women to play against them? I’ll acknowledge the physical difference and that I was wrong but I want to get back to my original point analee
- 1 y
It’s not, i agree with you about the chess.
Good, at least this ended amicably
as a non trans girl who does compete in combat sports, I don't think it's a big deal. the only times I've seen people complain about that it's been guys who don't even watch female sports.
but to address the question itself, if it does become the case that trans girls are extremely disproportionately winning fights in comps then I'm sure solutions can be found like maybe requiring them to be after some time of transitioning or or stuff like that.
also I want to mention that for non competitive fighting I think it's good to have a wide range of opponents to train with, for example at my club I regularly fight both guys and other girls00 Reply- 420 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
1 ySports teams are free to set their own rules. If a team wants to be for only people who have an innie belly button I wouldn't care. Personally I think gender segregated sports is kinda dumb. Back when I was in school I always liked it when the boys and girl classes would play together. Sure maybe for sports like boxing it might make more sense to segregate. Will let all the cis men punch each other in the head giving them selves brain damage... I think I understand guys now XD

1 yIf the competitions in question are more mental or strategy based (think Esports) it's perfectly fine. If we're talking about physical sports (like track) I think it's pretty unfair to let trans-women compete with females who've been born as females.

1 yNo, sports is a physical skill and so the physical classification should be what’s between your legs. Transgender is psychological not physical. Unless they make the physical differences equal like with testosterone suppressors or estrogen supplements then nope

Anonymous(30-35)1 yNo sane person would argue trans "women" should be allowed to compete in women's / girls' sports. And yet there are people here arguing they should, which should tell us everything we need to know about them. Putting gender ideology above fairness and protecting women in girls in sports is despicable.
00 ReplyI think it would probably make more sense to judge that based on whathhas an effect in any individual sport. maybe it should be segregated based purely on weight classes? maybe alsottestosterone levels? maybe even height? but I don't think sex/gender should really be what we divide our sports by, it's just too "abstract" (as in, it's basically just a combination of the parameters I mentioned and many more)
00 ReplyNo, it’s unfair. The biological male will always have an advantage. Lots of trans athletes weren’t even close to the top of their class but break records when they enter the women’s division. It’s unfair to women and a true feminist would never be okay with this.
00 ReplyNo there are physical advantages by the transgender that is not fair to women.

1 yNope. Trannies should be banned from competing in women's sports. We don't need biological men winning at Tennis and Boxing and such. It's stupid and it ruins the sport.
