Maybe it gets confusing to figure out which ones are awful enough, but do these people really deserve to live? It's not like there's an accident and they made a mistake. They intentionally murdered and tortured people.

The only US soldier killed by firing squad for refusing to go back to the lines. Yet other people get away with horrific crimes. Where's the justice?

Not firing squads , but when guilt is absolutely certain and murders are multiple , then a streamlined system for a quick lethal shot ( injection ) with no appeals , and no dragging out the process , hence the result would be similar , but only in worst of the worst , it can just move forward onto everything.

Firing squads? That was actually an honourable death, reserved for soldiers and some important people. The execution type aimed at the worst of the worst was the hanging, and probably the most cruel was the "botched" variant, when the neck did not snap and the executed person slowly choked to death.

Why make it complex. One bullet, close range back of the head would do it. No need for special training just call the local knackerman.

That would be cool. I read once that in Utah, you can choose to be executed by firing squad, but I don't know if that law is still active

Do you find a time duration punishment arbitrary of whether the person is safe to return to society, suitable? Repeat offenses, is the risk.

It is ok, and parole is not arbitrary, as you would know if you had ever actually worked in prison as I did.

All you know about is your own anger and fear, and you somehow think that is all you need.

Parole is "early release", provisional. I'm talking about someone above has murdered several people... with a fixed time sentence 40-60 years. They WILL get out if fulfill sentence.
Willie Horton got out. And the guy that murdered that girl in california got out... after murdering someone else.
These aren't hypotheticals... someone lost their children. Is it really worth it?

People like this do not usually get out. Sentences now tend to be much longer for murder, and people tend to die in prison.

Parole can be but is now generally not early release.

I believe you since you are in the system and you see the majority. But then again... I am near a big city and we see repeat offenders too frequently... just in my city alone. People are paying the price in blood/life/limb because of the difficulties faced of dealing with ill people.
