What are your thoughts on Trump making English the language of the USA?

He then would need to learn proper English like most other Americanesians as well.

It would also require a re-education in spelling.

Better leave things as they are to avoid embarrassment. After all, we presently (mostly) understand what they intend to express.

Like most of us, we can talk and understand each other But the reason we speak so poorly is that our schools teach absolute garbage in our schools WOKE and DEI being the most important to teach and not math reading and cursive writing, English. Children today cannot read the Constitution because it is in cursive writing let alone write cursive

Sounds like we are forced to learn the stupid way!! So we can alll be inclusive to be stupid.
I have mostly Asians in my class. Their math is exceptional. Fast computation. Ready for the next challenges.
My coach came in and told me I have to give the whole class manipulatives… counters. Whole class… idiots.
So my whole class can be slow like the ones who can’t count their fingers
I closed my door and gave my Asians kids higher level math.
Sat with my “special” need kids with my fingers… I practice with them a few more times they got it… no manipulatives to slow them down.
All these teaching materials cause us millions of dollars for the few kids that need them… but no.. it has to be a class set.

Many years ago when immigrants tried to become citizens they had to have a working knowledge of English to become a citizen, I do not know why it is not mandatory or if it is required anymore but should be enforced and not have every government notice be written in about 10 or 12 different languages, a waste of paper. If I go to their country I have to learn their language so they should learn ours.

I think he is right. I am tired of having people here for 20 years asking me why I don't speak their language in MY own country and are still not citizens nor have filed for citizenship... Give them a reasonable amount of time to become citizens and if they do not pass send them back despite the time spent here collecting benefits.

The people who refuse to learn English are the people who do not speak or want to speak. I see it at work when people come to the drive-thru at the pharmacy playing stupid when they think I don't know they speak perfect English because of having heard them talking in other locations and local stores Are you educated now?
