People criticizing tariffs, do they have a degree in Economics?

Many people are criticizing Trump over tariffs, but here’s the economic reality:

1. Companies like Target will raise prices due to higher import costs.
2. As prices rise, demand may decrease, but this also creates an opportunity for domestic
3. Over time, that will lead to more American manufacturing and less reliance on foreign imports.

When America prioritizes self-reliance, economic prosperity follows.

American Independence (1776 & Beyond) – Breaking free from British trade restrictions allowed the U. S. to develop its own industries

The American System (Early 1800s) – Policies promoting domestic manufacturing, infrastructure investment, and yes, tariffs, helped industries grow, making the U. S. less dependent on imports.

Post-Civil War Industrial Boom (Late 1800s - Early 1900s) – A surge in American manufacturing, steel production, and railroads led to rapid economic expansion

Post-WWII Manufacturing Dominance (1945-1970s) – With much of the world recovering from war, America’s self-reliant manufacturing sector boomed

Energy Independence (2010s-Present) – Advances in oil and natural gas production reduced reliance on foreign energy

Honorary economics degree from the Wharton School of Business awarded. 🧑‍🎓 Yay!
