The term was already used too often and in unrelated situations but now it seems that it’s the new derogatory term being thrown around since now that Amy Coney Barret voted against Trump she’s suddenly just a “DEI” hire which seems like just an insult to throw at her for not voting the way Trump and his supporters wanted her to vote.

After the DOGE firings of the DEI airplane pilots we can see planes landing upside down by the MAGA pilot and Musk had to quickly rehire all the DEI air traffic controllers and DEI airplane pilots. Which shows the competence of the DEI employees.

They called Amy Coney Barrett (who is a White Women For Trump) a DEI hire. Amy Coney Barrett graduated Summa cum laude in law school which means she was some bum she outperformed her entire class and earned her judge.

Again she was a White Woman For Trump. So they are saying DEI that means people that are not high on ketemine doing illegal rockets launches, who don't know how to run a country, and crashing planes. When they say DEI they mean smart and capable people.

DEI policies were not put in place to ensure lower-qualified minorities could get hired instead of more highly-qualified white people, it was put in place to ensure lower-qualified white people were not hired instead of more highly-qualified minorities.

DEI itself no. But DEI hire is and the reason thats happening is more problematic than the fact thats happening. Because there are much less competent DEI hires in company's with discriminatory hiring practises so in those cases people use the DEI hire correctly while still holding a negative view. But its grown to the point its so common that even if someone was hired on merrit if they aren't white people will assume they are DEI hires if they screw up or will insult them as such if they intend to offend.

The solution is simple, stop discriminating against people. I hope the Trump admin will go affer orgs that do this since it should already be illegal.

@goaded I don't care because it happens in practice. People at for example IBM had racial quotas to fulfill so the people of those races had priority. People like me speak out against those forms of racism. I'd assume you agree that not hiring someone because they are the wrong race is morally wrong.

So its former employees suing as well as the state itself taking action based on the presented evidence. But its all to recent for any judgements as far as I can tell. The evidence was quite big though, so I expect good chances in the state case. The employee may have a harder time since he'd need to proof correlation.
