In my opinion the Dems downfall started with Obama. For most non-biased voters, Killary Clinton also picked up the mantle of identity politics and they shit all over the Berny Bros who I think stood a good chance against Trump... So the mistake was made to shit all over who the Democratic voting class wanted and just shoved Killary into the race and Trump won. This unelected Democrat front runner will come up again, but I'll get to that.

Instead of correcting what I see as the problems... unelected front runners, Identity politics, and having a primary concern with making themselves rich (fuck the American people unless you're also rich and on their side donating), as well as too many empty promises to the poor for votes... they didn't fix a damn one of those things. Instead they used the media BIG TIME to shape the opinion of normies that believe what they hear and don't research anything. The news went from mostly factual reporting to nothing but opinion hit pieces against the orange man and COVID was used as well as the legal system. It worked.

Anyways, they realized it, and so they went right back to the dumbest idea they had in 2016... Let's make someone the Democrat voting class didn't vote for the front runner... But leading into the Obama era, I remember in 2008 mentioning to my 8th grade teacher during the election season about the decline in the moral fabric of our country. It just amplified under Obama. With bill Clinton we had a damn near plan to be in the black and then we had that whole debacle with 2000 election with Florida fucked up voting ballot format.

We had two needless wars that cost us trillions of dollars and led to a massive increase in the nation's debt, we had tax decreases for the rich, loss of health care which caused untold suffering among the poor, massive increases in homelessness, declines in regulations which to more pollution as industrial disasters such as East Palestine, Ohio, and when Reagan and Bush had open borders and granted unconditional amnesty to illegals, none of these right wing delusionals complained.

Looking in from the UK I can see a lot of the problems we suffer here mirrored in the USA and a lot of them are to do with the general Leftward drift of political discourse and theory to the point where people who still hold on to views and opinions that, 3 or 4 decades ago, were once Mainstream with considerable Cross Party Support, have now become isolated on the so-called "Extreme Right".
As for all of the USA's problems being caused by and beginning with Obama and Biden, whilst I can understand people taking this point of view, I would say no.
The USA's problems have a much deeper lineage than that.
However, under Obama and Biden, the social decline of the USA certainly accelerated.
