By what logic were Israel's 1967 occupations legal?

So even ignoring things like the Palestinian areas occupied by Egypt and Jordan weren't their's to lose, and to my knowledge you couldn't conquer other countries, even if the war started as defensive, but Israel itself started the war.

There was an Egyptian sea blockade and the neighbouring countries were giving hostile vibes and possibly interested in starting a war, but the war definitely started with Israeli airstrikes to the neighbouring countries.

I'm from Finland and it reminds me a lot about the continuation war. Germany had few days earlier started operation Barbarossa and in Finland there were plenty of German troops and the Finnish army was in full readiness. Then Soviet Union did airstrikes into Finland. I've never heard anyone say anything apart from Soviet Union starting that war (which I agree with), but their grounds for airstrikes were at least as strong as Israel's in 1967.

Israel is supposed by America so whatever a country supported by America do it'll be considered as ok so long as America is ok with it.

In Ukraine when Russia bomb civilian it's considered as awful and everyone is shocked by it but when America bomb Houthis nobody care about it, nobody complain that it's wrong, etc... So as long as your country is supported by America (which is literally the first military puissance and most powerful countries you're gonna be ok if your country is not supported by America then wathever you do is gonna be meet by suspicion.).

To put it in very simple terms.

During WW2 Britain conquered and controlled the land that is Israel.

Britain decided to create a Jewish state and created Israel.

Britain pulled out it's troops and Israel was attacked, Israel won and a treaty was signed. After a second conflict with Egypt in 1956 Israel stated that closure of the Straits of Tiran would be an act of war.

After tension increased in May of 1967 Israel again stated the closure of the straits would be an act of war.

Several weeks later Egypt blockaded the Straits of Titan.

Which led to retaliation from Israel..

So no the war didn't start with airstrikes, the war was started because of the blockaded.. Egypt started the war.

If countries can themselves decide what qualifies as an act of war against them, I guess for example Russia could also decide, that any of their neighbour joining a US led military pact (NATO) qualifies as starting a war.

Russia could do that I suppose, but that's a little different then a country that uses a waterway for imports and exports stating that blocking it is considered an act of war.

Russia saying anyone who joins NATO is an act of war won't hold much weight with the rest of the world because that's not a direct assault on Russia. But Russia is free to take that stance.

Yes they (/we) were in continuation war and Germany fought alongside with Finland and offered support. It became a bit like the Northern flank of Germany's attack to Soviet Union. To settle the war, the terms included that Finland had to cut ties with Germany and get rid of Germans from Finland. After that Finland changed sides to the allied countries.
