Private institutions should not be allowed to use government funds to advance partisan causes. I don't agree with the prevailing politics at Harvard, and some of my tax dollars have been sent to Harvard. It isn't right to require me to fund the political expressions of someone or something I oppose.

Why do colleges and universities in the US have tax exemption anyway? They are profit-making organizations. Let's close that loophole and tax all colleges and universities.

Absolutely! Harvard has an endowment of over 53 billion dollars. They are not "entitled" to the taxpayers' money, or to actually any Federal funds! This is not a "freedom of speech" issue. If Jewish students or faculty are unable to walk the campus in peace and safety, without being harassed or spit on or screamed at, or denied entry to buildings or areas of the campus, this is a civil rights issue! If the targets of this activity were Black or Native American or anyone else, I think the reaction would be quite different, wouldn't it? As it should be. The current Harvard faculty is like three percent conservative and the rest are progressive. So much for free and equal exchange of ideas! If Harvard wants to keep on promoting antisemitism, having pro-Hamas, pro-terrorist policies, promoting its extreme left-leaning orientation in faculty hiring, etc., they can do it, but not on the taxpayer's dime! Let them dip into their own plentiful funds. Why should I contribute to funding this garbage? This is NOT the great institution it once was! Stop indoctrinating students and start teaching them to think independently once again!

I don't agree with using the $ power to squash free speech.

I do question harvards right to receive public funds when they are rich as crap... ditto yale. why the H am I subsidizing wealthy people so we can import people that complain about our alliances?

that said, if he declared war, then it be ok. Back in WWII I dobut you were allowed to yell in the street "the Emperor is GOD, Japan is wonderful and they had a right to bomb..."... and I doubt we'd be importing such people to our greatest universities to hear them talk, although maybe that would have helped to defuse the issue, ya never know... doubt it.

Yep. I don't think the government should be funding ANY universities, and I certainly don't think athletes or coaches should be paid millions of dollars either.

Harvard and it's students and faculty have been supporting palestinian terrorists for decades. Not only should funding be cut, but the offending parties should be identified and prosecuted for aiding and abetting.
