I would guess it's a normal thing to grow out of myself included. Growing up you are just told what to do and learn manners without explanation. At some point, you gain more autonomy and even start contributing to the culture of what is right and wrong but still don't fully understand the ins and outs of a situation.

At some point, you figure things out and know when to let things slide or what's important. For some people, it just tickles their pickle to have power over others no matter how small. Snitch is a growing pain while being a Karen is a sad life.

This is for normal social etiquette. Anything legal? Shut up and talk to a lawyer. That's your zealot advocate as much as the other person can get their own zealot advocate.

No. I think snitching is despicable. Snitches lack honor.
That isn't to say that I wouldn't report a crime to the police if that crime caused real damage to property or harm to someone.
