Certainly there are good things to diversity, such as an exposure to different ideas and cultures. But there are disadvantages to diversity too, such as it leads to conflicts and friction between diverse groups. If you are liberal and think diversity is inherently good, what if you would surrounded by a bunch of Trump supporters? Would you really welcome this diversity?

Nothing under the sun is all good or all bad. That has been the truth since the dawn of time on this planet. This is one of the underlying issues associated with the type of tribalism we’re experiencing in western politics right now. Whether or not something is seen as good or bad is framed entirely by whose idea it was. It’s been going on for decades, but has grown exponentially worse over the last twelve years or so. There are dozens examples of one major party endorsing a policy or practice when they held power. As soon as the other party takes power, they decry the exact same policy or practice. Furthermore, when you present indisputable evidence of it, they choose ignorance rather than admitting their mistake, lies and hypocrisy. Neither major party has a monopoly on this behavior. They are equally guilty.

I went to my parent's country of origin for a holiday.

I was in a city, and I was surrounded by my own kind, normal people, and no diversity.

It felt good. Never once did I think to myself while there, ''hmmm, you know what, this is too boring, I think this place is missing an Indian restaurant on the corner'' or ''hmm where's the guy wearing a dress?'' or ''there's not enough people of color''.

With diversity, you're simply replacing your own culture with someone else's.
