I think part of Hitler's message of Nationalism resonated with a large segment of the German people in the 1930's in the aftermath of the economic destruction of the German economy in post WWI Europe under the treaty of Versailles.

They were willing to give a charismatic leader who was promising them a better economy a try. They really had no other choices. And their pride had been annihilated.

But not for a minute do I think the average German citizen was thinking, yeah let's be monsters and round up all our Jewish and Gypsy neighbors, ship them off to death camps, and exterminate 6 million people in ovens.

But I do think the average German, just like the average American today, lacked the courage to stand up to Fascism once they realized the truth about what they were actually supporting.

Hitler exploited the apathy and stupidity, fears and hate, of ordinary people just like the current wave of Fascism & Nationalism sweeping through Europe and the USA. It's an old story that has played out many times before.

Hitler bullshitted the people like Trump, Project 2025 and billionaires are bullshitting Americans. They were eager to rebuild and still reeling from WWI losses, so the masses were easily manipulated. Hatred is always a great galvanizer, so Hitler chose the Jews, gypsies, gays, Jehovah's Witnesses, the Sinti, blacks, and pretty much anyone whom he didn't label as "Aryan".

This is exactly what Trump and the GOP does. They have chosen marginal groups to demonize, like gays, trans, anything "queer", trans athletes, and convinced their followers that THEY are the problem in YOUR life, and the reasons for the whole country's problems.

But they've gone even further. They've turned the Conservatives, Christian Nationalists and any GOP sycophants into the "Aryan" race, and anyone else, like Dems, Liberals, Libertarians, even atheists, into enemies of the state as well. This is what's going on right now in the USA.

So Hitler represented the "will" that he imposed on the masses via his manipulation. Your claim that Post WW2 "elite" pushed gayness and migration is total bullshit. There's no bigger population of gays now than throughout history - they're just more out in the open. There's greater migration because there's more income disparity creating greater poverty, due to greedy leaders and insanely greedy corporations.
