What does it say about the country that elects a convicted felon? Let's play along that it was a witch hunt, doesn't that say a lot more about the state of the country? Things like that don't happen in well run stable countries. Appearances matter on the global stage to be taken seriously and this is why Trump has no influence internationally.
What are you talking about, man? Trump has a huge amount of influence internationally.
@ProbablyClueless With what country? Everyone is either pushing back or ignoring him. He left the G7 early because nobody wanted to talk to him and Carney kept cutting him off at the press conference. There only 1 trade deal and the other "agreements" are just agreements to make an agreement with nothing on paper yet. Because nobody is answering the phone when he calls, he's had to negotiate his own tariff rates for countries who ignore him, which is almost all the countries. He's made no difference when he's inserted himself in conflicts around the world. Why would other countries listen to an isolationist leader? He's inadvertently removed his own authority globally with his "American Only" policy.
Lots of countries... Most of the world has been shaping up fast.
He just signed that massive deal with the entire EU. The Japanese and Indians have a very productive relationship with Trump. The Chinese have come to the negotiating table over trade. The Saudis have pledged an insane amount of investment capital to the US. The Canadians have a productive relationship with us. And that's just the stuff that created enough of a splash to make the news The list could go on!
@ProbablyClueless the EU deal that he threatened a 30% tariff but set a 15% tariff instead isn't a win when American consumers will be paying the VAT that he's imposed on the things they buy. All he's done is hinder peoples spending in US and diminished trade flow so he can deliver more wealth to the rich in US. It's a shit show.
No manufacturing industry will return to US shores, American workers don't WANT to work in manufacturing and the coming demand for low skill work that's being currently filled by immigrants being chased out WON'T be filled by the unemployed millions around the country making those posts now require more expensive workforces. He's HOBBLED the working and middle classes to pay for the tax cuts to his owners.
@ProbablyClueless You are aware the projections that the US is about to enter an economic recession? That already prices are rising, markets are dropping, NO ONE is investing? Being dropped on your head must have been a traumatic experience.
I’m an investment guy.
I am aware that those projections exist. I am also aware that those projections are unfounded and being made by uninformed (at minimum) and/or incredibly dishonest people.
Trump’s economy is extremely robust.
@ProbablyClueless UNFOUNDED yeah you're self appointed "investor" class notion is just another name for speculative gambling doesn't detract from the far more competent and experienced observers telling you how it is and even for those who KNOW that tariffs cost CONSUMERS means more of THEIR money goes into the coffers of the NATION and since Trump's who purpose is to sustain and increase tax breaks for the ultra wealthy who DON'T spend all their wealth on the economy (they stash it in investments removing it from LUBRICATING the economic wheels of the nation) because they take it OUT of the economy.
Now your investment brain should grasp that whoever puts everything into the economy is making the economy flow and those who take out of it cause it to slow, so do the maths, think about whether it's better that a millionaire puts in 100k of his 10 million or 100 people putting their 1k of their 5k in to the economy. Who's committing more to running the economy, the 0.1% "investor" or the 20% "investors"? Who deserves to get most back? Trump says the millionaire, grown ups see this and say gtf.
You’ll see 🤷♂️
@ProbablyClueless it's not gonna affect me because I'm not Duhmerican or a victim of them.
@ProbablyClueless I'm an investor too and I really don't care if there's a recession or not. But it's coming and the numbers are bad. Canada has cut almost all relations off. India just started buying Russian oil despite Trump's threats. Brazil said FU to the US. China has been divesting from the US for the past 10 years and most countries have been moving this way. Most investments promises by other countries are nothing more than loans secured by the US taxpayer and are sweetheart no-risk deals for foreign companies with no penalty if they walk away. Much like the $10B Foxconn plant in Wisconsin Trump announced in 2018 and mostly abandoned in 2021. I'm sure as a fellow investor you're doing what we are all doing and freeing up some cash for some opportunities in the second half of the year because we're all looking to invest at pennies on the dollar. I really don't care if the economy goes up or down but obviously to me it's better if it tanks.
I'm right there with you! Although I'm predicting that it's not going to tank. I think the short term decline will be extremely temporary.
@ProbablyClueless Not going to tank for the wealthy because they've got massive tax breaks, average working people it's gonna stink for years.
@ProbablyClueless The average person will get higher prices for everything and with Trumps support of the toxic israeli war mongering middle east ideology then fossil fuels are going to remain high in spite of loads extra drill baby drill bollocks. At least Europe are making massive renewable investment to counter Russian dependence and a more democratic energy policy.
@ProbablyClueless Which shows us that white nationalist populism has infected the world.
@beefcakebradybatson not sure why that would be white populist nationalism. Maybe it’s just people of all colors tired of being promised something that never came to pass
@ProbablyClueless Yes, but falling for a rich swindler never solves anything except further enriching the grifter.
If you’re still under the impression Trump hasn’t made good on the lion’s share of his promises, then you’re the one being swindled
@ProbablyClueless I don't think our political views are different, but where we differ is probably in Trump's execution of his promises. Overall, I think he was the wrong person and he creates a lot of chaos. I still believe that in a country that is stable and free, he wouldn't have any chance of being elected. In those countries, they don't prosecute political enemies for fun and if convicted, they put your ass in jail. The US is in a dark place right now and I just don't see it getting better any time soon. I'd be happy to be wrong though.
He is a convicted felon. That is a fact. Most countries incarcerate felons. Especially, if, in Trump's case they feel. no remorse and are likely to be repeat offenders. He also violated a gag order 12 times. Thst would land most people jn jail for the duration of their trial.
Over here even his own party would have turned on him out of fear of being tarnished by him. He certainly wouldn't have got the political protection he enjoys in America so I'm sure he'd be in prison now, most likely on sex offence charges.
Don't be naive. Meanwhile impunity of elites is in every other country the same. Even in glorious Nippon or socialist Scandinavia

Not ANY other country but USA former allies yes
That speaks poorly of other countries then - they are all really totalitarian, according to leftist totalitarians.
Leftists need mental health treatment for their pathological hatred of Trump (among other things).
Of course she would be in prison. After all. The man is a criminal. Criminals. Go to prison in almost every country other than the United States when they have money.
Probably yeah. I say we deport him to Sudan.
So the Sudanese can say the USA declared war on them?(Besides, the sight of so many black folk would instantly kill white nationalist Trump !!!)
@beefcakebradybatson So we should do it immediately lol
Wouldn't sob if it happened !!!
No, because Russia and North Korea. In almost all others he would be.
No, and depending on the country he may be enjoying his golden years instead of fixing the corruption caused by the rogue DNC.
If joe Biden was in any other country (almost) he'd have been executed by now.
Yawn 🥱🥱 o
It shocks me how many JD Vance support there is. If the potus was to lose his job, Vance is president
definitely not. Other countries are even more corrupt then the US
He’d be dead. Not many countries like him in general
No there would never have been a case taken to court.
Probably, there's few places I trust to not imprison leaders who go against the deep state. Frankly, America is only barely not one of those places.
No, he would just be another rich guy
Of course not
He should be in an American prison !!!
He's in other countries all the time!
Nope. Hillary would be.
