Labor Day is a bullshit holiday. Agree or disagree?

In the traditional meaning of the term “holiday” as in ‘holy day’, it’s fabricated. But we celebrate much more in the US than just religious holidays. Recognizing that the working class people built this country, made it great and continue to grind away to keep is great is definitely not BS. Recognizing the literal sacrifices made by the earliest participants of the labor movement and even the literal sacrifices that many men make in the line of work every single day is definitely not BS.
What is BS, in my opinion, is a once-annual reminder of the unnecessarily difficult and dangerous working conditions in the US that compelled workers to organize and fight for their most basic rights. People literally died for other people’s profit. At any given time in this country, there are bills in motion to eliminate every single labor protection currently under law as legislation or precedent. The “job creators” want to make the US a third world country under the guise of “competition” while the average CEO makes 400 times more annually than the workers who are actually producing goods and services.
We should be talking about this fact every single day until it’s resolved to the betterment of working class people everywhere. Instead, we’re bickering about what pronouns a mass murderer prefers. THAT is BS.
If you had witnessed the zeitgeist of labor in the US in the mid-1800's and the rise of concern and appreciation for labor in the late 1800's, you would not think it is such bullshit.
If you have a day off, why ever complain?
It's only BS if you have to work, which I do, but I'm happy for those that have it off just the same because I used to be one of them!
Yeah, in most jobs you still have to go in to work 😂

Sort of, but it's not the worst. That prize goes to Columbus Day.
Fortunately, the US does not have any mandatory holidays. They are strictly voluntary.
it is now, maybe back when started it was. it should be ended and replaced with... um...
national pet and wild animal awareness day, a holiday for all.
It honors people with jobs/ . I guess for most democrats it really is a bullshit holiday.
It has nothing to do with politics. Some of us are able to think independently, and are not politically driven with literally anything.
Christmas is a bullshit holiday, celebrating someone who never was.
Considering it's for laborers and I had to work, fuck that bullshit holiday
I’ll take the day off, but another day would be just as good.
I agree.
