Happy labor Day to Those in the USA!!! Please, Be safe!!! xxoo
I know some businesses observe it. I've always had to work on that holiday because the businesses I worked for wanted to stay open so they could dwindle more customers out of money. I worked in customer service for Discover once, and the way they treated employees, unacceptable. I remember this one lady was 8 months pregnant, and she was having labor pains, and the only way they would let her leave without being terminated is if someon from her drs office verified she was actually in labor. Believe it or not, thats not the worst stunt they ever pulled, lol. Jobs are so stressing, and my anxiety is high! Like I'm medicated and it's not even working anymore. I am seriously thinking of becoming a professional writer and publishing the first 2 books of the series I've been working on and see where it takes me! I really believe businesses take advantage of their employees!
Appreciating the people who contribute to the society and in whose absence the nation won't run/sustain.. and being proud to one of them!
Thank you too Paris!
It means
@TrueConfection In my area it is no where near the time to stop bbq and close down the pool. It must cool down quickly in your neck of the woods! LOL...
@ArrowheadSW I don't think it ever really warmed up this year. Sometimes we have summer weather all through October.
@exitseven Lowe's probably has them on display already.⛄
It means I get to celebrate working…by not working.
@KatherineJ Thank You, sweetheart. xxoo

Time to put the white shoes back in the closet! And welcome back, college football!
Cheap brats at the food store.
Food stores selling New Zealand apples that were picked 6 months ago and put "to sleep" for sales now. Too bad they lose 80% of their crispness.
Finally having weather cool enough to finish all the chores I started in April.
Having my wife start her Christmas shopping.
Realizing that the year is 2/3 over. :- (
I’d say it should make most Americans sick. At this point, I see it as another one time pay adjustment with no pay raise, donut appreciation day for workers, cheap sign on incentive, another “fuck you, I’m not giving you a higher base pay rate, so have a cookie and more overtime instead”.
It’s especially a giant fuck you to white males.
At least it’s on a Monday.
It's a token nod from the wealthiest corporations and stockholders to all of the people whose hard work and labor was exploited in order to make them billionaires! Here, have a Federal Holiday and a paid day off that you can wrap around a weekend and make the most of the few vacation days you have left!! Life's a beach! LOL
On the bright side, it means all the asshole tourists go home and we get our town back until the snowbirds come!
It is the end of summer. It is time to say goodbye to all my friends and go back to school. I feel like Dracula having to go back to his coffin
that, ill be laboring on that day lol
In the US, it's the unofficial end of summer.
Haha so true, you still have quite a few more 95% humidity days ahead of you
@BoopBoopBeep lol!!! And Storms. xx
Yep yep... though I do have to admit I miss them at times. Traded hurricanes for tornadoes. So far it's worked out. So far.
It's not the end of summer weather. It's the end of summer activities. Kids are back in school so no more summer vacation, amusement parks start cutting their hours (some open weekends only), all your co-workers are back on the job (returned from wherever they went over the summer), stores start selling winter clothes, etc.
My daughter and her fam just ran over there from TN for a few days in Charlotte and Raleigh.
@Massageman Beautiful. xx
It's a normal day to me since I'm not in the US. But I see that it's important to some people from there.
Usually I go up in the mountains and do some hiking.
Are we condemning labor or celebrating it? I don't get how celebrate labor by refusing to labor?
It is nonetheless a time to remember that the value of our labor like everything else is proportional to the supply vs the demand. In an age of inflation and in which the Biden administration has imported 5-6 million more low skilled laborer willing able able to work for pennies.
The value of our labor has as such been much reduced for any such job, thus also reducing the great lot of Americans to ever more difficult paycheck to paycheck living. So we are indeed celebrating an ever-less rewarding act if you happen to have low skills.
Another day of work, but at least I get holiday pay.
Man I miss the days of time and a half/double time.
The only job I've ever held that took off on labor day was the Army.
It's just another day to me.
It’s my sisters birthday that died last year and my friends Memorial that died yesterday so the day is absolutely not good for me.
Holidays are just another day of the week, to me.
I'm not sure what labor day is for. It's just another day that everything is closed and it's like having two Sundays in a row.
Labor. day hense the name i believe was set aside for people who labor aka physical work,
But what I've noticed over my years on this earth the lower paying harder working blue clolar workers still gotta get up and go to work
And the higher paying white collar workers aka your boss who dont do the hard labor anymore get the day off with pay,
Kinda backwards if you ask me
So it means absolutely nothing to me anymore just another slap in the face by the man, big bother, the powers that be
As a Scotsman? Nothing.
But I suppose it being an American thing, crazies will find larger crowds to rob or shoot at...
Summer is over cause the next day, my teaching schedule picks up again 🤣
It means no work, and school starting. And American football season nothing exciting. But thanks
It means it’s my last day before I have to go back to work after a summer off.
Thanks Paris, I’ll try!
Labor day means to me all the workers in the country get a Paid day off it has nothing to do with military services
Nice.. This user blocked me in the other question. She’s so sensitive the one where you left me the comment anyway, she’s trolling

Family gathering at my parents home with cook out and fun.
Nothing, actually. I am a very civic minded person, but I genuinely have no idea what the purpose of labor day actually is.
Outside of my childhood, it's meant nothing because I've always had to work, but I think for those that get to enjoy it regularly, it's the last gasp of summer before Fall begins.
Demo derby at the county fair, food on a stick and all the paste eaters are back in school!
Peace and quiet in the stores during the daytime.
It's always meant Bumbershoot weekend although I no longer go. To expensive now. Was 5 a day and 15 for 4 days. Now its only 3 days and I think over a hundred a day.
Working in your economy…. for your economy. Pat yourself on the back no matter what you do.
unless you’re a serial killer. But then we need true crime series….
It said nothing to me until now, Paris.
As it happens, my company sent me to the U. S., and on Tuesday it perhaps means more to me.
As per today it means to while away time that keeps me from being at home?
Isn’t that when most women go in labor? lol. Nine months after the new year, New Year’s party, cuddling during the winter and such.
I’m very sarcastic so Labor Day is the one day a year I refuse to be lazy you know my default setting
A day off from work, maybe.
Labor Day grew out of the trade union and labor movements. It was proposed in the 1880's. Like MLK Day and Juneteenth, it was put in effect to appease an important segment of the population and gives government employees another opportunity not to work.
A day to relax and tell work to fuck off for a day.
The middle class workers who help build this country through hard work, blood, sweat and tears a day to relax and enjoy as a form of appreciated
For the States Labor Days mean for those who work and Labor it a day off like that
Also, it the last weekend of the summer. Schools just started up people back into their jobs
Thank you!
Hopefully the summer heat and humidity is about to be history.
All the school buggers going back to school the next day.
A day for laborers to watch white collar folks get the day off.
since I dont get that day off its just another day to me
Labour Day is a communist holiday. It's not something that should be celebrated.
It means you can’t wear white the next day 😊
@Likes2drive Des That Still Hold in this Sick Society, Big Guy? lolxx
You never know but I think that was from the 1950s
It means a lot of traffic and a 3-day weekend. Other than that, nothing.
it doesn't mean anything to me because I'm bourgeois hahahahahaha😂😂😂

A weekday for some afternoon delight, instead of having the responsibility of being at work.
Normally means a vacation.
I owe
I owe
It's off to work I go!
It means a three day weekend!
Two beautiful daughters. Oh wait.
Nothing, i am not from the US
A day off from school, lmao
Nothing here like that in Egypt.
a day to work?
time to get together with family.
I never understood taking a holiday for working.
Means doing labor jobs around the house to get ready for fall and winter seasons.
A day off work
But then have to work around the house
It does not mean anything to me really.
In the UK it is called May Day instead, we used to have all sorts of events but not now
It’s a day to honor the American labor movement and the contributions of our workforce. The economy doesn’t run without labor.
To me Labor Day means summer is going to be ending soon
Good job to all the worker bees
Labour Day is a holiday where workplaces and schools must stay open. If they’re closed, should be called Lazy Day.
That I'm getting older. My birthday falls on and around labor day so mama was in labor that week
No work and just a day to myself :)
