8 moProbably, they shut down traffic, become a public menace, often riot and vandalize property, antagonize the peaceful public around them, commit lots of assaults, start fires.
Sounds like a terrorist group.

8 moAntifa is not an organized group, I don’t think they have meetings or chapters or anything like that.
But here’s the thing: “AntiFa” is short for “anti-fascism.” So if you oppose Antifa, you kind of tacitly are endorsing fascism.
Serious question: fascism is an objectively bad thing, no? I thought we were in agreement on that as humans, but maybe not.

I just created the 'good guy club'. we step on the heads of puppies and kittens, If you oppose someone in the 'good guy club', you must be a bad guy since only bad guys would oppose good guys.
- 8 mo
In my opinion, the country was so far left that anything resembling centrist is deemed fascist.
- 8 mo
@seeyounexttuesday I think you know that’s a disingenuous and intellectually dishonest argument. If it’s too binary, fine. But it still begs the question “what amount of fascism is GOOD?”
- 8 mo
I 100% accurately described your original reply. You call anything you disagree with "fascism" so who's being intellectually dishonest?
- 8 mo
@Ariesman81 So, my question is: what did the far left do that’s actually bad? And the only rules I have to how you answer is that the answer can’t be influenced in any way by religion, because America is a secular, multi-theist country with a separation of church and state. “God”, “Jesus”, and “the Bible” are to play ZERO role in our legislation and social norms.
So with that hopefully agreed upon (at least outside of your private thoughts and feelings that you share with or manifest tangibly to no one), what is the non-religious and factually honest reason to be homophobic. Or racist. Or xenophobic. Or any kind of bigot?
That’s the entire reason for my political involvement, eliminating always-toxic, never-beneficial bigotry from human society to whatever extent I can help with in the hopefully 40-ish years I have left. Because what is the counterargument FOR it? Nobody ever answers that for me in a serious way.
It takes NO ACTION to NOT be a bigot of whichever variety. Absolutely zero. It’s an INaction. Bigotry is what takes effort. And I just for the life of me CANNOT understand, especially from folks who call themselves Christians, WHY CAN YOU JUST NOT BE UNPROVOKED, UNWARRANTED ASSHOLES TO PEOPLE WHO ARE ALREADY WALKING UPHILL? Why can’t they just do that? Seriously. And why does that seemingly make people feel good? And it’s not just being done, it’s being done GLEEFULLY. People are proud of things we used to be ashamed of. And I honestly don’t know what to do with that. - 8 mo
@Ariesman81 I may not be in church on Sundays, Ariesman, but I certainly endeavor to be a good man who extends compassion and empathy to people. I want the best for everybody. I don’t happen to need spiritual guidance for it, it’s my default setting. If others do, or prefer to…. thats what freedom of religion is all about. But we have to have an agreed upon secular social standard, that can be observed by anyone. We all know you shouldn’t rob someone and murder them, because “DUH.”
But I’d include under “DUH”, having bigotries towards people who are doing nothing to you but whatever imagined offense they’ve committed against you in your own mind, and exhibiting those bigotries in any kind of external thought, word, and deed. It’s honestly not a big ask, and my brain literally cannot fathom how people even need this to be requested of them, let alone having a problem complying. This is beyond political debate; this is anti-social behavior.
What exactly do you believe the far left is doing that’s so out of bounds? And I’d again ask you to remove your religious beliefs from the equation, as they’re disallowed from discussion as it relates to society and beyond your own internal feelings. - 8 mo
@seeyounexttuesday I don’t call anything I disagree with “fascism”, that’s ridiculous. That’s not even one of the words I typically throw around. I use it when it applies.
“Fascism is a far-right, authoritarian, and ultranationalist political ideology defined by a dictatorial leader, the forced suppression of opposition, and the prioritization of national or racial interests above individual rights. While specific characteristics can vary, most fascist movements share a few core tenets.”
Trump is an authoritarian. Trump is an ultranationalist. Trump is attempting to suppress opposition. Trump is puts national interests (and they aren’t totally saying it out loud, but also racial interests) over rights of individuals. And the people in his political orbit and his supporters think it’s just swell. Does the shoe not fit? Or is dictionary now “woke?”🙄🤦♂️😂 Please don’t waste your time or mine attempting to refute that, it’s just going to be stupid as shit - 8 mo
Where was there forced suppression of the "opposition"? I'll wait while you try to come up with that one.
You're the guy who called Elon a nazi for months because he waved at a crowd, your judgment on reality isn't rock solid. - 8 mo
And to you it's fascism to put America first. Do you realize how dumb that sounds?
- 8 mo
I agree that there should be a standard for societal behavior. And I think Charlie Kirk said it best. The Founding Fathers who created your Bible (Constitution of the United States) were Christian men. The laws and rights within are Christian laws and rights. It is not feesible for the constitution to be adhered to if it's population doesn't abide by those standards. Which is why we're experiencing the meltdown we are. A lack of Christian values. I know you want to separate the two, but you can't.

@seeyounexttuesday ok, how about this one?

There are NO threats from individuals in the USA that would be comparable to historical figures deemed as true fascists, like Mussolini or Hitler. Contrary to what the looney Left espouse, such as that retard, goaded, who liked your comment, American Right-wing figures, like Charlie Kirk aren't fascists, since even challenging the authentic ones in history to a debate would've resulted in your death or disappearance.
The term "fascist" is often used as a political pejorative rather than a precise descriptor, and its application to contemporary American figures is typically inaccurate and polemical. Classical fascism, as a historical ideology, involved a specific blend of hyper-nationalism, state corporatism, totalitarian control, and the suppression of dissent, which does not align neatly with mainstream American Conservatism or the broader modern Right.
Figures on the American Right, such as those aligned with Nationalist, America First, or traditionalist movements—advocate for policies emphasizing border security, economic sovereignty, and cultural preservation. These positions are rooted in Constitutionalism, national self-determination, and democratic processes, not the revolutionary statism or leader-centric authoritarianism characteristic of historical fascism. Contemporary Leftists may label these stances as "fascist" to discredit them, but the comparison is generally superficial and ignores substantive ideological differences.
Authentic fascism rejects pluralism and liberal democracy altogether, whereas even the most strident voices on the American Right operate within, and seek to influence, the existing democratic Republican framework. So, while some actors may employ rhetoric or promote ideas that critics associate with fascism, the label remains largely inappropriate and inflammatory within the context of US politics.
