How do you feel about Slovakia changing Constitution to enshrine there are two genders?

Slovakia amended its constitution on Friday to enshrine two legal genders.

The newly approved amendment states that "the Slovak Republic recognizes only two genders, namely male and female, which are biologically determined."

Other amendments that were passed, include enshrining priority of Slovakia's national law over European Union level law, and establishes that only married couples can legally adopt children. This forbids gay couples from adopting children, as another amendment to Slovakia's constitution, that was passed in 2014, defines marriage as a union between a man and a woman.

Slovakia's Constitution requires 3/5 of vote in the unicameral parliment to amend. Amendments were passed with the minimum majority of 90 MPs of 150. The amendments were passed by 79 members of the ruling coalition (that consists of left-wing conservative parties of Hlas and Smer, as well as nationalist Slovak National Party ) and 11 conservative members of opposition. Against the amendments were liberal Progressive Slovakia party and libertarian SaS party.

As a conservative who believes in strengthening the family, I agree with the positions they have taken.

I agree that there are "only two genders, namely male and female, which are biologically determined." Every country should follow Slovakia's lead on that issue.

But I think same sex couples should be afforded the legal benefits of marriage.

It makes sense that same sex couples shouldn't be allowed to adopt children, but I'm not a hard liner on that.

You know USA actually has a higher poverty rate % than Slovakia?

You're either lying or you're ignorant or you're bad at math. The US poverty rate is about 11%. Slovakia is 18%. 11 is less than 18 last time I checked. The Slovakian poverty rate is 64% higher than the US poverty rate. Like I said, Slovakia is not the country I'd be taking advice from.
