Yes and no. If he could somehow be omniscient and never accidentally mistake an otherwise innocent person for someone who truly deserves death, it would be okay. However, he can’t be perfect. Nobody can. That’s the entire argument against vigilantism and the death penalty in general. Even those staunchly in favor of capital punishment wouldn’t accept the loss of someone that they care about to the lazy-brained belief that “you can’t make an omelette without breaking a few eggs”, where human error is concerned. The belief that anyone is safe in a society that condones vigilantism is naive at best.

No. Not because I dont think they deserve it or even that I dont trust the punisher with that power, its just historically a bad idea because it has real consequences for society to have vigilantism.
