For context, Iryna Zarutska was killed randomly by a 14-time schizophrenic criminal offender. Why was someone who has already proven to be a danger to society allowed to roam free? I'll never understand people who believe in forgiveness over justice. There's such a thing as accountability.

Since i watched the brutal video of her death, i was wishing if she had survived because she looked like a sweet innocent soul and behind her there was a demon, the one who killed her!

I remember the first time I saw the video, I was in tears man. I don't ever get emotional over videos, but this one just hit hard. Maybe because it was real and as you said, she looked like a sweet girl.

It was a mix of anger, frustration, and sadness. I do not believe in forgiveness for anyone who kills in cold blood... ever. He should have been put down after the first offence.

The people around her didn't do anything, not a single reaction, no one even bothered to stop the girl's bleeding, a bunch of animals!

Now everybody knows, state psychiatric care could be better. But letting Jenny get away with murder won't help this girl. How will she ever appreciate that her actions have consequences if there are none. And how many children will she kill, before the adult criminal Justice System can take over. Do we have to wait and see? Ms. Sharkey would like us to cross our fingers and hope, hope that it won't happen again. I have my own kind of hope. I hope the state doctors can find a way to fix this girl. I hope that it takes six months, but until they do, we can't afford Ms. Sharkey's brand of hope. We need to protect the Aaron Polansky's of this world, from Jenny Brandt.

Absolutely not. Some crimes are beyond that. 'Second chance" is just between them and God and their repentance. Legally they have to get life or death. Some crimes are that bad. This life is forfeited. Death or life without parole.

I believe in rehabilitative services for the imprisoned. In this case, it sounds like the perpetrator probably wasn’t receiving the care they needed, likely because a lot of prison systems aren’t made to cater to the mentally disabled, especially those that require medication to manage their symptoms. Being locked up might be the only way he could afford his meds for all we know. This is still tragic and I have no doubt he regrets his actions once lucidity returned to him.

I say "yes" to the question but only if they are truly repentant.. But in the case of the criminal who killed Iryna, that's not forgiveness, that's enabling and frankly evil to let an unrepentant criminal out to endanger the public again..

Depends on your definition of "second chance". If you mean a second chance to exist according to the laws of a society, that would depend on the crime. If someone is a serial killer, or has committed some other heinous act like a school shooting, mass shooting, extreme hate crime, etc., then "second chance" might mean recycling their soul into a new body and letting them try again, if you believe that sort of thing.
