SNAP/ EBT is this a good thing or not?

I feel torn while we have people taking advantage of gov. programs like EBT which I agree it needs to stop however by ending/ putting it on hold it's going to hart the people who really need it such as the elderly, disabled and even the kids of these people who are taking advantage of programs like this. What's your thoughts on this?

It had good intentions. It was designed to be a supplemental way for people to avoid food insecurity during times of economic hardship. It was not intended to be a lifestyle for loafers that just do not want to work for a living and would rather live off the taxpayers.
The system is loaded with fraud and corruption. Maybe it is time to just let it expire.

Government sponsored food programs are stalled because the democrats refuse to go back to work. They’re not being shut down entirely. Only about a third of users are estimated to be illegal immigrants, but there are many homegrown losers cheating the system too. The problem is that the cost of investigating every single user for fraud and abuse is more costly than just paying the benefits to scammers.
What will probably eventually happen is everyone will be dropped from the program and users will be forced to reapply to stricter requirements for qualifying. The government will have to accept that there’s an upside in having to hire more people to handle the flood of applications and processing. Maybe even get to put some of those former deadbeats to work instead of putting them back on entitlements!
No welfare program should be lifelong. It should be enough help to keep people from going under, but too little for them to depend upon entirely. They should be motivated to get a good job and support themselves, like the rest of us.

I get this, I'm not sure how much I get per month because I never get any kind of statement saying how much. I only use it once or twice a month as needed. From what I understand, you CAN go to certain ATM's and remove some of the money from it! And then use the money to buy anything else, which I think is kinda stupid. I mean, let's say I go to Aldi and I see they've got shorts on sale and I need a couple pair. I can't use the EBT card to pay for those but I CAN go to an ATM, take the money off the card that I need to pay for the shorts and then go back to Aldi and buy them!!
I also hear that the pres. wants to keep us from using the card to buy pop. Pop is fucking expensive, these days and most things I eat I can't chase with water because it gives me acid reflux! So, I NEED to use that card to buy root beer. It's not like I guzzle it! I only have MAYBE 2 glasses a day.
Otherwise, I agree with his stance on eligibility to get the card: either get a job or volunteer somewhere.
I've seen a few people that get loads of benefits, some of which I CAN'T get (so much for my white privilege!!), who CAN work but, REFUSE to work BECAUSE of the benefits!! What makes THEM so special?
