Was I wrong for not helping this woman?

The other night I was walking back from the shop and I saw a middle aged woman walking my way. I looked away for a few seconds and then looked back, and she was on the floor, moaning like she was in pain. What caused her to fall down, I've no idea. And as she got up, I just kept on walking by.

The reason I didn't want to help is because I've known many cases where a man went to help a woman who was in some sort of trouble, and the woman started shouting abuse at him. I even know one case where a woman attacked a man trying to help her. I've also had quite a few times in the past where I've held the door open for a woman and they got offended. So I'm now hesitant to help women because I don't know how they're going to react. Deep down I want top help, but I feel as though women today are unpredictable and don't appreciate a man helping them. So was I right or wrong to not help the woman?
