Why does Western society act like they don't need anybody?

Is it because of the individualism? I understand that but sometimes I can't find nothing to talk about... If we dont need anybody why do we interact each other?
I am curious about this issue's opinions... What do you think?

The highly individualistic nature of western society is heavily rooted in capitalism, which encourages a “win or lose” mentality within the strict definitions of success that it creates. Humans are social creatures, needing connections to feel sane, and socialist nations often carry this sense of community. In capitalist nations this ability to call on others is only seen in times of crisis, where you can “play the hero” and therefore “win.” Otherwise it’s a society that requires a group of suffering people to function as an adequate threat to those that choose not to enforce this lifestyle on themselves.

i don't think it's "western society". i think it's mostly the usa exclusively that has this big "chase your own dream" or "self made man" idea. that sort of morbid idea of reckless success. i think some of that just comes with capitalism tho.

i can't really speak for the entirety of Europe. but like in germany we do have a wellfare system so strong (probably gonna die soon due to our economic failures) that nobody has to be scared to be homeless if only they keep cooperating with the unemployment offices. like you litterally don't necessarily "have" to work to get by. we also have individualism but also strong collectivisism even structurally engrained. our health care system as well. everyone has health care. employed or not. there's even private care as well but also public care that's affordable or paid for if you can't afford.

Westerrn society has been the biggest influence on the evolution of mankind. Government, science , medicine, technology and literature has mostly come from western civilization. Who needs the rest of the world?

I dont mean the society dont need any other society. I mean individualy people, a person, dont need any other person. I mean this.

But int Girlsaskguys or twitter or instagram or in the outside society you interact with them and we learn and improve together. You interact with them dont you? I think otherwise we couldnt live...

I am here quite infrequently. I don't do Twitter or Instagram. The thing about social media is, I can get away from it as soon as it annoys me.
