So, it's completely normal and innocent for Venezuelans - most of whom can barely feed themselves - to take a boat with $150,000+ in high-powered engines and $2000+ in fuel out on the ocean in the middle of the night, launched not from commercial harbors but from isolated areas on the coast, running the same routes that the US Navy and Coast Guard have repeatedly caught drug runners (doing exactly the same thing the same way) doing. Is that what you believe?

By that logic, a group of men wearing ski masks and carrying rifles entering a bank should just be viewed as routine commerce, because there's no evidence that they're there to commit a crime?

The facts are that Trump was able to get Mexico to cut off a significant amount of Chinese-sourced fentanyl, so China simply moved their operations to Venezuela. This isn't some kind of big secret. Both China and Venezuela make a lot of money getting drugs into the US, so they're both motivated to continue doing so. Trump asked Venezuela to knock it off, and Maduro told him to pound sand. So, now, Trump is having those shipments taken out.

If these were simply friendly fishermen, Maduro would have stories about these innocent fishermen being killed all over CNN - but fishermen don't make drug runs in fast boats in the middle of the night. Nor do day sailors. The only people who do that are drug runners. And it's not exactly new - it's been happening on and off since the 1970s - it's just been a relatively small piece of the problem until recently, when Mexico's business got impacted.

It's amazing that you care far more about Venezuelan drug runners than you do about the 100,000 Americans who die from fentanyl every year - which includes plenty of non-drug users who unknowingly come into contact with it and die without ever knowing why.

Okay... Should I understand that You see no difference between an armed criminal drug syndicate and individual drug dealers? By the way, the latter can easily get killed "extrajudicially" if they pull a gun on a police officer. Most of them simply do not resist arrest.

Now... Hateful towards the EU as I am, I believe Trump could make a deal with those cartels. I mean, they are basically businessmen like Him. Some of them might even be more outstanding than Him, given that most of those drug kingpins were born into poverty and broke out of it due their own efforts - and a bit of disregard for business ethics - this much should be about enough to earn His respect. He could easily redirect their efforts to the EU, which is evidently hostile to the USA under His administration. The deal could go like this:

"I appreciate your business enterprise and your logistics skills. However, your product is actively harming my citizens, and I am forced to act. If I find as much as a sniff of your stuff on US soil, you are all cooked. If you can redirect your business literally anywhere else, though, I shall not intervene."

That Trump has not followed through with this kind of plan proves that He is actually still full of goodwill towards the EU. Instead, He is apparently taking an overly ethical approach to the matter (given that the EU is a nightmare for its own inhabitants, I would actually welcome some cartel activity to bring it down) and tearing down the drug cartels completely. In this context, no executions of individual drug dealers are not just simply humane, but also make perfect sense - without the "product", they will simply be forced to change their business area, and since they are pretty skilled businessmen, they might prove useful for the rebuilding of the US economy.
