Ladies... what do you think of recent study of teen gals?

Two thirds of them feel they can't express their opinions in favor of just being liked. Its like 1950.

It's really not surprising in general for both boys and girls of that age. It's more important to fit in than it is for most to be individuals with their own opinions. Teens do tend to be more judgmental at that age but it's harder on girls because of expectations on women in general.

I would love to see honest opinions from a boys perspective on that kind of question. I'd imagine it would be lower, but still significant enough to be noticeable.

I never much cared about being liked as a lad, just being a sports fan. Besides, girls seem to be drawn to me.

In my case, it was oh so true. A bunch of girls vied for the chance to be my girlfriend when I was in high school.

no wonder, we've separated girls froma higher power, given them shaky homes... and they are supposed to go into a complicated world with a device that does more harm than good? No, they will cling to the crowd... unless well trained.

So insecurity about the future, teen angst over all the changes coming at them as part of becoming adults, and desperately want to fit in.

I would guess the same research into boys would show that while shyness is a factor, society doesn't impose stricter norms of "get back in the kitchen".

My wife's conservative trad parents made her do tons of chores whilst her brother raised hell and a lot of credit card debt in their childhood. I also dont remember being told stfu.

@OddBeMe I would say it tells us less about what You want to know about women and more about what You want women to feel. The only thing feelings are useful for is inciting other feelings. They are not solid data, they do not tell us what the world is like.

@OddBeMe Unless they are supposed to manipulate people based on herd mentality, polls should be based on facts and not emotions. Feelings are emotions, they are unstable, and therefore they are useless as data.

Polls and studies are different things. Poll results should be taken with a grain of salt. People's feelings are based on insecurity and perceptions. Things that are subjective and not based in reality. If you want to give credence to it, have at it.
