Anonymous(45 Plus)7 moWell, speaking as a man if I'm not performing some kind of service I feel I have no utility to this world. To me it's not about dollar worth (that is not the case to society you are judged as a man by your dollar worth). But it's about my worth to this world with me. A man should give what he can.
When God created the universe he did it in 6 days, and on the 7th he rested. And in doing so God created a template for man to follow. We owe it to God, to ourselves, to our kids and partners, and we owe it to our species. This is how man surpasses our predecessors.
Woman also have a societal role. As our society becomes more equal the line has been blurred between what is male responsibility and what is female responsibility. There is nothing wrong with this so long as people remember that both genders have their strengths and weaknesses they're suited for best. Nobody should be forced into a role that does not fit them though.
I CARE if a woman works! I would NEVER date a woman who did NOTHING. If she wants to raise kids fine (there is no greater calling). If she aspires to be a CEO fine, If she volunteers fine. Whatever she chooses, if she's with me, I'll pay my own way. I'll pay her, and are potential children's way. But she needs to know if she's NOT employed, that standard of living WILL be whatever I can manage.

Asker7 moWhat if she's a multi millionaire and doesn't work?
Opinion Owner7 moDoesn't work? Does she do anything? Does she run a charity? Does she volunteer at all? What does she do with her time? God has blessed her with abundance? What is she doing for her fellow man? Anything?
Asker7 moMaybe run a charity. She goes to gym, take care of kids, manages her own business. Yeah she's rich she has time to travel too
Opinion Owner7 moWell, she's not a loser. But I'd be interested to know what the administrative fees of her charity are. I can respect her and what she does. But that doesn't make us the same type of person.
Asker7 moWym administrative fees?
Opinion Owner7 moA charity takes in money. Not all the money it takes in actually reaches the people who need it. That money is used to pay the non volunteers of the charity and regulate the overhead of the charity. Some charities are essentially scams (as far as I'm concerned) with administrative fees of 90% (which means only 10% of donations are actually getting to people who it's intended for in the charity). It's generally considered a bad thing if a charity has administrative higher than 30-35%.
There is a lot of things I could also infer about her based on what you wrote. How does she make her money? How does she have time to run a business and a charity (or did you mean that we're the same). If they are the same and she's makes a lot of money then what are the charity administrative fees? How high are they.
Not everybody who does good does it for altruistic motives. Take Warren Buffet. I'm not downing on Buffet because he donates billions to charity. But he also does it for a tax writeoff. He may actually believe in the charity and I'm not saying he's a bad man. But he does it because it's tax deductible and it's good PR for him. You take those two things away and he likely either wouldn't donate at all or at least very little.
Asker7 moOh I get it they do it because it would make them likeable and they want people to know how good they are not because she did it on her own kindness.
Well what if the charity she runs most go into people who are really in need and she's not that greedy to take some of it?
Opinion Owner7 moWell she sounds like a person who's really giving back then.
What I want to know is how she finds the time run a business and a charity (because you never said they were one and the same. You implied they were separate). And in that case she's very good at delegating authority and balancing two things. She sounds very organized.
Asker7 moLike I said she's rich. she's still the head of charity she can ask someone to do it for her whom she really trusts.
Anonymous(18-24)7 moWomen are expected to work. Women are also expected to bear children, do the majority of childrearing and house work.
Wives are supposed to be good helpers to their husbands. Husbands are supposed to provide, shelter and protect their wives.

Opinion Owner7 mo@melssvdv different roles. Do you think historically women were chilling at home whike the men were out working? or were they up way in the morning at 5am baking bread, making their husbands and children's breakfast, washing the families clothes, cleaning the home, lighting the stove/fire, preparing & cooking the families meals, maintaining a herb and vegetable garden, preserving food for the winter, fetching water, fetching fuel for the fire, making clothes & shoes, helping their husbands with his work, educating their children all while bearing children along the way in an age before modern conviences.

Different roles, yet men contribute more overall. Everything that we can do, pretty much men can do better. It is so depressingly simple and obvious why: because men are stronger and more powerful than us.
We do not have it as hard as men. Stop consuming feminist nonsense trying to show off we women are equal to men because we 'work as hard' as men. We simply don't. We can't. If we try to do the labor that men can do to their maximum, we women would just break or even die.

Because women are lazy blood sucking leeches on average... Everyone needs to work to survive. Men have just been highly innovative over the years making very productive as a species that can generate abundance. If everything ever went to hell and you didn't have access to all the modern convinces due to wide spread war, major natural disaster, etc. you'd find out how quickly you as a woman have to get your shit together and take care of yourselves or die. Guys take care of themselves first, but we are generally charitable with our friends and family when we have excess. It's better to always hustle, because when things go bad, you're already prepared to survive. Men make it through hard ties. Women die...

To be treated equal as men , that’s when Womens’ liberation came into effect , and that’s why most women have to work these days , but most of them still bitch about it , even though they are the reason it’s this way , and why society considers a jobless male a loser00 Reply
7 moEveryone gets value from finding a purpose, back in the cave people days a man's work was to hunt and build, to protect the family. The women supported the man and the family. we dont do the same work cave people do, but still I think everyone is expecting to work if you dont you dont survive. Thats what makes a person a loser, Not taking responsibility for themselves and others. In today society if you aren't contributing toward society (working) you are a loser it doesn't matter if you or male or female or even how you contribute. All that it really takes in today's world is trying to not be a loser.

7 moThat’s one of those things. Look, women who stay home do work hard if they are doing it right. Many people who are staying home just have a false idea of what it’s like. When they see it’s real work… they become resentful and make their partner do everything around the house.
I don’t care what people do. As long as both people are happy. It’s not my business. People who pass judgment on things of that nature are generally unhappy with their own lives. But notice how those same people don’t like it when people judge them for immoral acts. And their lifestyle.
00 Reply937 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Society is an abstract concept that largely generalizes what everyone supposedly thinks
By that I mean: you can mean an individual who doesn’t think that way
And then one who thinks it’s the other way around
People are different, it’s largely based on their own experiences, nurturing, and preferences
It’s futile to ask “why” when the premise itself isn’t universal
It is common, however, and it’s largely a residue of the previous era when women weren’t even allowed to work to begin with
Your grandfather worked, your father worked, therefore as a man: you work…
That’s the general logic00 ReplyHonestly I think society expects women to work more than men. Deeply ingrained gender norms assign women the primary role in unpaid domestic labor (childcare, housework) alongside paid work, leading to a "double shift" or "second shift," while traditional views still see men primarily as breadwinners, creating an unequal distribution of total work, even as women's paid work increases and industries grow. This expectation stems from outdated beliefs about family roles, lack of workplace structures supporting dual-earner families, and the undervaluing of caregiving, forcing women to often take part-time or flexible jobs
00 Reply2.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I'd say muscle power. In the tribal days, men hunted women gathered. Hunting was more dangerous and needed muscles.
In the agricultural period, everybody worked except for heavily pregnant women. But men did the heavy work of reaping whilst women did the lighter work of tying up stooks.
Overall, muscle power only became of reduced importance during WW2 when women were required to man factories and machines could replace muscle.
There is a lot of inertia in culture so the million years of men working is not lost so readily. Women are still selecting men on what resources they can provide.
Plus women still have babies and nursing is still a thing.
00 Reply- 3.3K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
7 moBecause having babies is the role nature gave her.
Before feminism brainwashed women to hate men and to act like men and to think being men was their goal. Before scientists created drugs to stop women from naturally having babies and forming families... caring for families was their natural work.
Since men STILL build EVERYTHING, harvest all the energy, grow ALL the food, maintain all of the infrastructure women working more has just lowered the wages of us all, fill us with millions of worthless HR roles to oversee all of the work complaints of their offenses and complaints.
Yeah.
00 Reply - 1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
7 moNature.
Millions of years of evolution designed men both mentally and physically to go out and hunt and bring home the woolly mammoth for the family to eat while the woman had the babies and took the primary role in raising them and keeping the cave habitable while the man was out on the hunt. That has been their roles in the family unit for millions of years. "Feminism" tried to change that but ran into a brick wall because that's not the way humans were designed.
For some reason there is this temporary fad where people somehow think men and women are the same. After millions of years of them each having a specific role, I can just hear nature laughing at that one. We'll see how long it lasts. It's like a microsecond in the story of evolution.
As the saying goes "You can't fight mother nature." Mother? See! Women do get respect!

Anonymous(18-24)7 moA lot of my fellow man complain women are in the workplace, women should be in the kitchen, women should do traditional. Demand corporations not pay workers a fair wage that is more than the cost of living. And get easily angry about life being unfair, gee I wonder why?
Idea, simple really. You should work for a good wage as your father did, be able to build a relationship on love, and should be able to have satisfaction for your own work.
Don’t focus on what the ladies are doing, focus on you and build yourself up because you matter.00 Reply- 5.5K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
7 mobecause society is inherently, structurally and methodologically oppressing men so women can be more free to rise the chidlren. but feminists like to frame that freedom as "oppression" to gaslight everyone about the actual oppression of men.
00 Reply - 1.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic.
7 moBecause naturally we are hardwired to see women's lives to be more valuable be default. For being able to reproduce, even if they can't do it without men, how they raise and nurture children is an ability men cannot do. So that's why they're reserved while men risk their lives to get value. Fewer women means fewer chance of repopulating. That's basic survival.
013 Reply- 7 mo
Men can't breastfeed new borns. Men can't carry fetuses in a womb. That's the exclusivity I'm talking about. If talking about raisng and nurturing the whole family, women can do that also. Basically women can do what men can do, (except for the more effortless impregating a woman) while there are things only women can do that men can't do, which is why they leverage their roles. Women reserves to do their exclusive roles while men have to do the hard labor both can technically do.
Also I've already discuss about the gender ratio in our previous topic and I don't think you're capable of learning that. - 6 mo
you're making it a competion. Even if you think the women's exclusive ability is effortless when compared to the generic hard tasks men do, That doesn't remove the fact that the ability to do those is unique to women which is just no doubt a useful ability when it comes to repopulating. You only devaluing it based on your competition but nature begs to differ.
- 6 mo
But that doesn't mean you had no mother who actually birthed you and breastfed you.
- 6 mo
He did not. He impregated your mom. Learn the difference. If i really have to just simplifying how valuable they are with just basic numbers, Father's being able to impregate is 1 point value. Mom getting pregnant is 1 point but that's only one trimester. There are 3 stages of pregnancy so that count as 3 points. Ability to give birth is also another value so that's another 1 point. Being able to breast feed to raise a child is another 1 point. That means women has 5 points reproductive value compared to men having only one, only the part where he can impregnate. It's not rocket science.
You're cherry picking on single dads, but what if I told you they're also single moms. So the point is?
- 6 mo
And that is exactly why men are seen as less valuable BY DEFAULT Unless they do something else productive to provide to balance it out

" And that is exactly why men are seen as less valuable BY DEFAULT Unless they do something else productive to provide to balance it out "
Isn't breastfeeding also doing something productive? And being pregnant lowers our productivity in all other area's. Because we have to carry a lump of 2kg or so. While the man still produces even more. - 6 mo
Nobody is saying that it doesn't take two to bring a human up. But that still doesn't mean that they're both contributing for human's existence similarly. And the topic is about biologically speaking like when it comes to reproduction.
You're missing the part where I said "unless they do something else to be productive to provide to balance it out." That is exactly why men have to work more to gain value. Because we don't have that same biological contribution when it comes to reproduction.
Men and women have two different biological contribution when bringing a human life into existence.

7 moTraditionally, men are seen as providers. Women are judged less for not working because in decades past, it was very common for women to handle all the other household responsibilities that didn't involve making money. However, our society has mostly gotten away from this dynamic in 2025. Nowadays, it's very difficult to get by financially on just one person's income alone.

7 moBecause a woman's original job is at home while a man must work outside to provide for his family, same as people doesn't care about a man doing the house chores but they blame the woman for anything that is not done at home... etc
