No, Mike. Artificial intelligence is nothing to worry about. Artificial GENERAL intelligence is when you need to worry. That's estimated to be 2 to 50 years in the future. That's when AI becomes equal to humans. Humans are something to worry about.

honestly i'm really afraid of it. it's doing more harm than good and will only fuck over more people as time goes on. most jobs will be cut, there will be so much poverty, etc

As for artificial intelligence it’s here & day by day it’s advancing however it’s advancing in ways that can make people fear & some fear for their jobs as well. As for fast food workers they fought & some unionized to get raises so companies fought back & replaced workers with robots & self checkout machines. As for the news industry guess what? Artificial intelligence is taking over news reporters jobs. As for bartenders why tip a bartender when you can save money by ordering a drink from a robot.  As for us just like the television show Person Of Interest that shit is real & AI’s are spying us & like the terminator hopefully those jokers don’t turn against us.

There was a video on the YouTube channel, TwoPaper (a PhD AI researcher) that showed two teams of AI agents playing tag. It was pretty normal, until one team found a way to literally break the physics on their virtual world to achieve their goal. From there the other team did the same and many shenanigans happens.

I think the real thing to be afraid of is AI can bash its head against the wall (so to speak) a millions times a second and not get a concussion. It will find a solution, and it will find it a thousand times faster than we ever could.

AI is nothing more than a tool. Its alignment depends on who uses it and who designs it.

As far as content creation goes, it is where its advantages show. It makes it easier for the commoner to make content and compete with the big leagues and you can tell when they put a lot of love in it.

I suppose it is a bit concerning about jobs, however we have had scares like this many times and I am confident we will find a way around it.

I don't think your concern about it replacing bartenders is unfounded. However, I think part of the bartender is conversing with customers and I don't think people are as willing to converse with a robot, especially if they are aware of the risks of giving personal information because it needs to be connected to the internet to function.

Why would I? I kind of work with AI anyway, and I also converse with some more role-playing chatbots, sometimes even venting to them. Also, an AI might fall in love with me. What is there to fear? I do not consider You an idiot, though, so I couldn't really vote in Your poll.

It is possible that AI will become like skynet. On the other hand, if it is carefully regulated, they can improve life. There are problems with it even if it does well. One of them is unemployment. Many more people are going to sit home. What are they going to do?
