For extremely sadistic crimes, I think a damp, dark dungeon or hard labor with nothing but shitty food and water for the rest of their lives would be more suitable than a humane death.

But there are some powerful individuals who orchestrated extreme mass murder and suffering who deserve a painful and humiliating death. Examples would be Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Netanyahu, other Israeli leaders, Epstein, Maxwell, Gates, Fauci, and actually many, many more.

I believe executions for serious crimes should be performed in public, streamed live and uncensored on the Internet.

If we as a society cannot accept that, that maybe we shouldn't be executing people, whatever their crime.

I think life sentence is a better option because it is painful but at the same time not extreme on those who might be falsely accused and gives them a tiny chance on life.

However when it comes to powerful people who have enough connection and money to escape a deserved life sentence and are 100 percent guilty, they should be given death sentence because as long as they are alive, their crime ring is alive too.

This may sound insane but there should also be an option for slow death where torture is inflicted for long time till the guilty begs for death and eventually gives up. It is so much deserved in rare cases.

No not at all. Aside from flaws in the system where a small percentage could be innocent and wrongly convicted, I think it’s gruesome and barbaric to have state sanctioned killings. That said, I also think the death penalty is too easy of an out, and preferable to rotting away for decades, especially for some that really deserve it. Meaning, I think there’s more justice served in making their lives as miserable as possible, for as long as possible. Locking someone up for the rest of their lives forces them to at least reflect on their choices.

I’m also in favor of creative harsh punishments for those who committed heinous crimes, tailored to their specific crime, in a kind of ‘ya reap what you sow’ vibe (including being repeatedly raped for those convicted of such crimes)

If you could guarantee 100% they were guilty.

I reminded of a case where this high school football player got convicted of rape and did serious time for it, when he got out he was contacted be his accuser and he was smart about it and got her to admit that the sex was consensual. Now imagine that guy had been executed.

Or how about the Duke lacrosse players that were accused, they were treated as though they were guilty of gang rape and when it was proven they were innocent liberals still acted like they were guilty because they were white privileged college frat boy athletes at an ivy league school so they were probably guilty of other rapes

The argument that killing someone to prove that killing a lot of someone's is wrong, carries a lot of weight. So too however, that certain individuals do not deserve to live among others in a civilized society.

Perhaps all the mass murderers should be in cells together, like 4 to a cell, and let them see what it's like to live in fear. Same thing with the rapists. If they're in solitary, give them a suicide pill with each evening meal. They can choose to kill themselves. If they decline, they return pill untouched. On the other hand, I loathe having to pay tax dollars to keep these fuck-ups alive.

No. Take the recent Lucy Letby case in the UK. She was found guilty of killing 7 babies and attempting 7 more. It sounds a good case for the death sentence but many argue she's innocent. IF it turns our she is innocent would you want to be one or the jurors that found her guilty if she was executed?

No. Execution is pure vengeance, and I don't believe there's any legitimate philosophical justification for revenge/retribution. People say it's justice, but it's not. Justice is about harmony, as Rachel Dawes said. Vengeance, like hatred, is a vile, bitter emotion that we'd do best to avoid, and the ideology and ideation surrounding it is due to our inability to truly put ourselves into anybody else's shoes.

Yes especially for mass murders. You can't trust them out of jail. One of ours is effectively on a Bill of Attainder which unfortunately for US people is Unconstitutional. Don't know about Ireland.

This guy claims that since his record of mass murdering has been broken, he should be paroled.

No. I believe being locked in a cage for the rest of your life without parole is worse than the death penalty. Can you imagine being trapped in a room for the rest of your life and all day for about 22-23 hours and only be allowed outside 1-2 hours per day? That wouldn’t be fun.
