How would you feel if EVERYBODY in America ONLY spoke their ancestral language without ANY regard as to whether anyone else could understand it?

I've been seeing a lot of commercials on YT in various languages, mostly Spanish yet, we speak English here in America!! If one of us goes to live in Tibet or Sri Lanka, do you think they should start speaking our language just because we're there, now?

I made a couple phone calls yesterday. As usual, there was a menu I had to wade though before I got to talk to an actual human. On one of these menus, it said that, if I wanted to continue the call in English, I should press one!! It never said ANYTHING about any other languages!! Why should I, as a native-born, English speaking American HAVE to push a button to get the rest of the call in English? It SHOULD be those that speak OTHER languages that should have to make the choice!!

The amazing thing about America is despite being over 200 years old with immigrants from all over the world it's failed to develop a unique language of it's own.

I enjoy etymology and often look up how words came to be. Usually they're a borrowing from latin or viking or something but you just don't see American English absorbing immigrant words. Spanish and English should have merged long ago into a new language.
