I believe that your generation was given way too much praise when you were young. That was a thing that parents were doing back then.
They would clap and praise you and smile at you and say "Good boy for using the Big Boy potty today." They did that way too much and to your detriment.
So when your generation became adults, you are still looking for praise and someone to clap for you.

Likes to be? They don’t know any other because they grew up having more power than their parents. Or the mother who didn’t do a job. Praising and lock of discipline is not parenting so it’s not your fault…
I think the idea that the entire generation is like that is massively exaggerated. They just hate the world we live in, and want it to change but don’t yet have the power to do so
Yes, they would not last 5 minutes in the 70s.
