Donald Trump has been asking other countries for help. That makes me believe he may have underestimated or misinterpreted the capabilities of Iran’s military.
I would have assumed if Iran’s military is so weak the USA wouldn’t need help from other countries.
11.6K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Of course he has. First of all, Trump is not much of a military strategist. He's not educated in it and didn't listen to his generals and admirals like he should have. had he done that at least, he would not be in the predicament he's in now. The Strait of Hormuz is a very formidable geographical pinch point, which you can easily see on the map and Trump could have seen on the map too. The Iranians have it completely fortified, and there is no easy way to get rid of them. Even if they could, it wouldn't be worth it. It would cost the lives of thousands of American soldiers to even try this. This is a war without any discernible purpose or payoff, and it is not worth the life of one soldier on either side. It needs to stop.

Right, if only he had simply been willing to look at a map of the location he's bombing, this entire situation could have been totally different.

u 3 moYour thinking is very simpleminded. Yes, the USA and Israel together can crush Iran, but
1. If other countries will benefit from the fall of the current Iranian regime, who shouldn't they help in the fight?
2. Concentrating our forces in one region makes us more vulnerable in other regions. Having military assistance lessens that risk.
3. If you think you are out-thinking the Joint Chiefs of Staff, you have grossly overestimated your abilities.10 Reply 2.8K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. No.
Iran’s navy is destroyed, their Air Force is destroyed, their Anti-Aircraft weapons are destroyed, their radars are destroyed, their mine layers are destroyed, most of their launchers are destroyed, mainly if not most of their missiles and drones are destroyed.
Their clerical leaders are dead. Their military leaders are dead. The cleric's and military leadership roles were filled with their next best and they are dead now. The clerics and military leadership roles were filled again and many of them are dead now too.
The US has enough oil for itself. But China, India and others depend of the oil that comes though the Straight of Hormuz not us. And Europe will suffer too as prices go up, up and up. But again, the US has enough oil through drilling.
Therefore, those who benefit from protecting the Straight and the oil shipments should defend it, not the US. The US did the hard work of stopping Iran from getting a nuclear weapon. The other nations, gasp, will actually have to do something. I don’t care if they don’t as the US is fine and will export oil at the higher prices. It would also be easier for them to do so as Iran likely won’t attack other nations especially while the US has a knife to their throat and will bomb their power plants next which will also likely lead to civil unrest if not outright civil war.

1.1K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Donald Trump is a businessman he sees America bleeding money doing what he's doing
So if you can get other countries to get involved and when I ran doesn't stop doing what they're doing and Trump's going to go in there and just wipe it everything out and he wants other countries to be involved with it so he's not the only blame
But what he needs to stop doing is bragging Because that's all I've heard out of his mouth it's one thing going to work with somebody and Destroy them it's another thing bragging about it that's totally wrong and out of control10 Reply

The U. S. is paying for 60 to 70% of this NATO shit and then a bunch of NATO countries don't even jump in. If they had to pay for their own defence... they can't keep up their standard of living. They're living off the US tax payers like the quality learing centers in MN. He's looking for a way out of NATO.
Fuck Iran's abilities... we've already fucked them, slapped their ass, and now we're just tapping Iran on the head with our dick and asking them to make a deal.
Russia can't even beat Ukraine and Iran was supplying their drones... they have their own problems and they'll help Iran about as much as they helped Syria.

3 moI think the left are believing the BS that Iran spews non-stop. They are not nearly as strong as they try to convince the world. But if we let Iran get nukes they will be more powerful and they would use them.
13 Reply- 3 mo
Iran is not spewing any BS at all. If any BS is being spewed, it's Trump and the United States government. There is no way to stop them from having nuclear weapons short of using our own on them, which would start a world war. Let's hope Trump isn't stupid enough to do that, as well as everything else he's done. It will be a good thing if Iran gets nuclear weapons or is able to manufacture them, actually, because if they can, that will stop the U. S. from invading.
- 3 mo
You actually believe that Iran’s military is as powerful as US military? If so why haven’t they killed all of US government like we did their government? Why haven’t they sank our entire navy? Why haven’t they destroyed our entire air force? You have a brain you just choose to not use it.

3 moOf course , he said he didn't see Iran hitting all the countries around them, even though Iran said they would. America didn't know how deep of missiles they had and about all the ways Iran had to launch them.
I think Iran has to be finished now right or wrong because they will either make nukes or buy them for sure and they will use one against Israel for sure now. They were attacked and had everything destroyed. They want to get the last day.

Anonymous(36-45)3 monot at all. I see him looking at how the USA spends far more than any other country in NATO for defense of NATO nations, and they aren't willing to stop circle-jerking each other long enough to help our country in a conflict. He's doing this to prove a point.
NATO is basically a hooker, taking the USA money and not giving us the "sex" we paid for. My guess would be that Trump will use this to try and justify pulling the USA out of NATO and they can go fund themselves. 🤣

And Europe should fund its own defense instead of the U. S. funding it
- 3 mo
The U. S. is not funding our defense. E. g. small Germany is paying the same share of NATO operating costs as the big United States (14,9% as of 2026). By the way, the United States, for the longest time, dissuaded European nations to have their own defense alliance. Go figure.
- 3 mo
Us nato spending 980,000,000,000.
Germany nato spending 93,747,000,000.
We are out funding you by a factor of 10, and thats just dollars we haven't even goten into how much more of our equipment is bieng used and how much more manpower we are supplying.
- 3 mo
See, that's the problem with people like you - you don't have a clue how things work, but a massive opinion. Just like the assclown Trump.
I wrote about the *operating costs* of NATO, the only thing where the United States could potentially being taken advantage of. But with them paying only 14,9% of the budget (same as Germany), they aren't. You wrote about the military spending which happens according to each country's priorities and has no direct causation with NATO. Germany spending a million, a billion or a trillion on their military does not cause the United States to spend another dime. There are no open bills, that European countries somehow caused and that the United States are paying for us. Get it? - 3 mo
And thats why america should pull out of nato, we spend to much on it and we get no benefit from it.
- 3 mo
You do realize that the only benefactor of an article 5 assistance incident in NATO history so far has been the United States, right?
- 3 mo
You do realize america is the only reason Europe didn't become vassle states of the Soviet union right?
- 3 mo
First, it's "vassal states". Second, as history shows, half of Europe did become vassal states, including literally half of my country, Germany. Third, it was largely, but not only, the United States protecting Western Europe, but also the United Kingdom and France. Which was a win-win situation for all, obviously. How many billions of taxes have McDonald's sales created here, that they couldn't in the Communist East?
